I scheduled my interview for Nov 9. Two weeks to go and I'm so frustrated, when I received packet 3 it said to mail in my original previous passports along with other paperwork and I complied.

I sent two expired passports but one has gone missing, I called twice so far but had no luck getting my point across and no one seems to understand what the issue is, I keep getting replies from them saying to bring the passport at my interview or if I can't provide it to give a statement as to why.

My fiancé and I both write emails to the embassy and currently they are being revised and we are supposed to wait for another email. I really hope they understand the issue at long last.

I had my medical last week, I was wondering if anyone had such a bad experience as I have, I felt so unbelievably degraded and like an animal being appraised. Among other things I had to take my clothes off so a lady doctor can visually examine my entire body and count the scars on it...

And to top it all off, the report says no apparent DEFECT. Defect???? How inhumane is that?

I'm not sure about the passport thing, seems odd that you would have to send those ahead of time? Where was this requirement listed? Hopefully as long as you bring your current passport with you to the interview you will be ok. It seems to be universal with consulates and embassies that they are terrible at answering questions!

My medical is on November 9th. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with yours! No apparent defect is really a horrible way of phrasing it. :o

I hope the rest of your journey goes smoothly! You're on the last stretch! When are you planning to travel to the US?

They asked for it in packet 3, along with some other paperwork. I got an email yesterday where it said they have two passports and if I have any others to bring at the interview. So I don't know if the original email requesting for the passport I already submitted was someone's screw up or if they just found it, important thing is that its there and not lost or misplaced. So thats a huge relief.

If all goes well and we are reallllllly hoping it will, dec 3 will be our travel date. Haven't bought the ticket yet but found the best rate for that date.

You have your medical on my interview day :)

Last week they opened a bunch of dates in November but they were all gone within an hour and I missed them (only found out after the fact on VJ) so wasn't able to grab an earlier date. Anyway, it's too late to change it now, I've already got all my travel plans made and booked the time off work. Montreal is a 10 hour drive from where I live so it requires some planning!

My fiancé lives in UK. He said the court took his marriage certificate when he got the divorce. He has a photocopy of the marriage certificate. Does he need a certified copy? If so, how would he get one?

I imagine he would need an original or at least a certified copy, but no idea how you would go about obtaining one in the UK. It might be helpful to make a new thread about it in the UK subforum?

Glad to know that was resolved!

I was going to say that I'll send you some positive vibes on November 9th, but with the time difference there's a good chance I will still be sleeping if your interview is in the morning!

I was hoping to have my interview in November too, but December 16th was the earliest date available at the time. The Montreal consulate is a little frustrating... they rarely have interview slots open, and when they do they go so quickly!

I know what you mean, when i made my appointment there was a slot open for Oct 19 but my medical was scheduled for Oct 20 so obviously I couldn't make that, and the next available date showed nov 16 so it was basically a month apart. I took that just to make sure I don't lose it and get even more delayed, the next day when i checked again all of a sudden Nov 9 was available so I changed it to that. I am almost certain after that sooner dates opened up but I refused to check, I cant change my appointment again without having to repay the 500+ dollars fee. The tokyo consulate has k1 interviews only on Mondays.

10 hour drive, thats quite a lot, Tokyo is theoretically just an hour drive from where I live but traffic is outrageous especially in the morning so it will be more like a 2-3 hour drive for us.

On a more positive note, we are all getting so excited, my daughter asks me everyday to go TODAY or the day we get our passports back, the latest. My fiancé got her a bed and the vanity table she's been dying to have and we decided what colour he will paint her room and he talked me through the theme he is going for for our sons room, I can't believe we are almost out of this waiting nightmare and we will finally be together really soon :)

I just received notice from USCIS that my case was sent to the State Department.

NOA2 on 9/22; send notice on 10/1.

So, it took TSC 9 days to put the case in the mail.

Hi fellow March filer, we received an email that our case was approved last October 21st and received the hard copy notice in the mail last October 27th, it took TSC 4 business days to mail our case to the NVC. Please advise how soon can I call the NVC to get our assigned case number? I appreciate your help.

Someone posted this info before. I pasted it in my notes.

I hope it helps you.

1. After you have NOV2, still check USCIS website until they transfer your case to NVC. (one week)

2. After your case was sent to NVC, wait 1 week and start call this number (should tell them you are K1) 603-334.0888. Call in the morning. They will let you know when your case in NVC system and assigned. Normally, they will have this from 1 or 2 weeks.

Thank you so much! This is very helpful. We just received an update that the TSC forwarded our case to the DOS last 10/30. So, I guess we have to wait for about a week and start calling the NVC and see if they have our case already. Best regards!

We had our interview today and were approved!!! Cant express how happy and relieved we are!

The interview went smooth, I was nervous and the fact that our number was 13!!!!! didn't help at all. I lost my baby's pacifier while going through security so had to hold him for the two hours we waited, to keep him quiet.

By the time we got called for the interview my arms felts like they were about to fall off and I was hot and sweaty...

We had a female CO that was very nice and polite. Questions asked:

How my fiancé and I meet

When did he propose

If I was surprised when he proposed

When is his birthday

If I thought of a gift for his birthday this year- Its this month on the 20th, to which I replied Im hoping it will be us! that made her smile :)

If I met his family

How many siblings does he have

How many times I was married

Where does my fiancé live

What does he do for a living

She congratulated me and said we will get our passports in a week and that was it. And we found the pacifier waiting for us at the exit gate :)
