We were approved last night, glad to move on to the next step!

Do we wait a couple of weeks and call NVC for the reference number? Does it get updated on USCIS once it has been sent to NVC?

Welcome to this thread!

You can keep checking your case status on USCIS, eventually it will change from "Approved" to "your case has been forwarded to the Department of State". It took 6 days in my case. I believe that will be the last update from USCIS, the rest will come from NVC/DOS. Once the file is sent, it takes about another week for NVC to receive it and assign a case number.

So, yes, you should be able to call NVC for a case number in approx two weeks! Once you have your case number, you can track your progress on the Department of State website: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

I'm so happy to join this thread now!! my case was sent to NVC on August 27, 2015. It's very hard to explain how relieved you feel after you break loose from TSC!! Now, I'm a little confused about the next steps, I know I have to wait for the NVC to assign us a new case number and our paperwork to be sent to the embassy but then what?...

I created this topic to enable us start a new discussion on Noa2 approvals, for March 2015 filers TSC. We have heard of the 1st Noa2 approval this morning.lets share more of it on here. Goodluck to we all.ð

Thank you for starting this thread. Has anyone been approved today? Is there a certain time USCIS updates approvals? This waiting has become insanely depressing and downright cruel. I am happy for those in March who are approved yet becoming uneasy the more cases i see that were filed after ours which is dated March 9, 2015. Not a peep from USCIS...could petition be lost? TSC never replied to a service request sent by USCIS on 7/28/15 so i had to follow uldp directly with TSC. It should be interesting what they have to say seeing that in 2 days it is exactly 6 months with no RFE's(kinda sadly). I am glad to know that i am not the only guy on VJ that feels this way. It is a comfort to know i am not alone.

Good Evening from Vietnam. WOW we had quite a day.

First off what I have to advise you need to take with "a grain of salt". This is because now each country is different so YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) as they say....

Now that I have a case number, I was told it is very important that you do the DS-160 in country. Apparently there may be some ISP "things" about filling this out in USA that may cause issues (found on VJ) so here is what I did since I was in Vietnam today with the purpose of doing this.

1) I worked today to get DS-160 done for my fiancée and son. It took a long time and it was much better with both of us working on it. It would be tough to do alone.

2) You can start the DS 160 ahead of time... and well worth doing so both of you can work on it. You can save and add to it using an email address and a password to share.

3) Use a copy of your I-129F and G-325A as guides for the DS-160. On these are most of the answers. Best to be consistent in your answers.

4) To my surprise you ONLY NEED YOUR SRC receipt number to conclude it.

5) I think the ISP part comes in at the end of the DS-160 where your fiancée signs. You can have it all done and then finish that part up in Country.

6) Have a printer available at the finish and make 3 copies. This was a barrier to us today because I am in a hotel and had to go to a copy shop to do this.

7) When you are done you will get a DS-160 number. This is important along with your NVC case number to take the next step.

The next step is to pay the fees. This is different in every country. It all begins with logging into www.ustraveldocs.com and set up an account. You need both numbers to do.

Each country is different, but setting up an account with them is a must to direct you how to pay your fees

Today I had do some work arounds because I am printer deficient. With Vietnam we are lucky enough to have the PKT3 instructions on line. If you are in a country that does not have this available you will likely have to wait for PKT3. Here we have to go into ustraveldocs.com to print out a receipt for the fees that we either pay at the Vietnam Post office or at HSBC. Knowing that the Post Office would likely be a zoo we opted at 3:30PM on Friday here to press ahead and do this step before HSBC closes for the week at 5:00PM.

Pressure on we completed this step online, went back to the print shop to print out the receipt and then banged on the cash machine for the money to pay the receipt. Into HSBC and the tellers there were great since they apparently had seen this before. We filled out the deposit slip and forked over the cash and ALL DONE at 4:50PM !!! Whooo Hoo!!!!

Now we are waiting for the money to clear the bank on Monday, then we can input and get confirmation that we paid the fee. With that we then are going ahead to set an appointment on line. Today we can see we can get an interview today on October 7, thereby shortcutting the process by at least 30 to 60 days if we can get it.

Tomorrow its back together to get PKT3 done and get most of the stuff copied for the Interview Package. A productive trip so far.

I hope this helps everyone from the Black Hole speed things up. Shaving 30 days to see your fiancée is like gaining years after our horrible wait
