When Will The Montreal Consulate Get My Case?

Sorry in advance if I seem impatient.

We got the online approval on the 20th of July, received NOA2 in mail on the 22nd of July. NVC got the package on the 5th and assigned us a case number, it left the NVC on the 10th. I emailed Montreal and they my case is in transit (they are very quick to reply, almost within the hour).

Just for reference, how long did it take some of you to get the notification from Montreal that the case has been recieved/logged (packet 3 issued) from the time it left NVC? Should I be concerned or do you think I will receive notice of packet 3 soon?

thanks

Are you tracking it on the CEAC site? It'll show in transit until they have it, BUT even when it says READY it does NOT mean that it's logged.

They sent mine from NVC on June 30th, Montreal recieved it on July 7th, but it was not logged until July 16th. There is no notification other than MAYBE getting snail mail from them, you have to check yourself.

If you wait for snail mail, mine was logged July 16th, but we didn't recieve the snail mail until July 30th. Some people NEVER get the snail mail though, so it can be more on you to inquire yourself.

Either way, it took two weeks and two days in total from being sent from NVC to being logged at MTL.

Yes it says READY. It says the case was created on August 5th and that it was updated on the August 10th. So I guess they received it on the 10th but havent logged it yet?

I am definitely not waiting for snail mail, they said once they receive it, it'll be forwarded for review. They said before that they will contact me with further instructions once they receive it. Do they email me with info when its logged or do they send out snail mail and I have to keep emailing them to find out if its logged?

For me it was created June 25th, marked as IN TRANSIT on June 30th marked as READY on July 7th, and then it did a status update date on July 15th AND July 16th. If they do review it, I'd assume they reviewed it on the 15th, and then logged it as good to go on the 16th.

The only way they'll let you know is with the snail mail. You can keep emailing them to find out if it's logged, or you can wait til the next status update date, that next update date is most likely when it'll be logged.

I never bothered to email them, I just assumed when they didn't respond to my original packet 3 email (July 10th) as Montreal responds VERY quickly, that it was because it wasn't logged. When I saw that it had a date update on the 16th, I asked my fiance on the 23rd to go ahead and try again and resend packet 3 email, and got the packet 4 email within 7 hours of sending packet 3.

The ONLY contact we've EVER recieved from them, other than the email back of packet 4 after we sent packet 3, was a letter from the NVC saying it was forwarded to MTL, and then the packet 3 snail mail.

If you want 100% confirmation, just bug them, but don't bug them too hard they'll just keep telling you the same thing.

Thanks Ash! Once again, you've been incredibly helpful! I'll just keep checking CEAC for a case update date!

I don't know how accurate that CEAC site is. My case was created 17-Jun-2015 and it still says No Status... my interview is on Monday. :/ I don't even know who to email to get it looked at, but at this point I think it's a little late in the game for me.

My interview went fine and I was approved first thing Monday morning. I just checked the CEAC site just now and it's been changed to Issued. That's the first time it's ever said anything other than No Status.
