Hello all,

My wife is pregnant and she is expecting in a couple of weeks.

Question 1: Is there anything I need to do to update my case when they are born? Anyone been in a similar situation?

I didn't include that we have kids in our applications (AOS, EAD, I-130, AP) as they are not born yet.

I am adjusting from TN Visa which will expire in October.

Question 2: Should I try to expedite my EAD as it is possible my TN will expire before I have the EAD in hand?

My submit date is July 17 and I just had my biometrics done today (Aug 18). I feel I should be ok as long as there are no delays in my application.

Question 3: Do I need to update my employer that I have a new EAD once I get it? Again, anyone been in a similar situation?

As well, I'd just like to thank all those that have posted and helped people on here, this site has been an invaluable resource for me in navigating the whole AOS process.

Thank you!

1. You will have a chance to do so at interview.

2. If you have time, you can wait for EAD. If there is no RFE, you will receive it next couple months. You can expedite it with a pending job as a reason, a company letter will be helpful.

I also adjusted from TN recently. When in October does your visa expire? You should be fine if it's in the second half of the month. You might want to plan on taking some vacation just in case there is a lapse.

Not sure you can expedite based on an existing job.

I didn't notify my employer when my status changed, it was my responsibility to maintain work authorization.

Good luck!

My TN expires in Mid Oct. I'm hopeful I'll get it before then.

Thanks for your help!
