My wife (non usc) and me (USC) withdrew our AOS for her after going through everything EXCEPT the interview. Basically, I know we have go through the whole process all over again if we move back (fun!), but my question is simple. We sent (via snail mail) to USCIS our withdrawal letter and they received it (have signature confirmation). However, on the same day they sent us an interview time/date/etc. So HOW do we know they received and it was withdrawn. The reason I want to know is that I don't want it to cause problems in the future (Not showing up for interview).

Ironically it was the same day our baby is scheduled to be born, go figure!

Sounds like a good time to schedule an Infopass appointment.

Best wishes!

I am OUTSIDE of the US for the next several years, so Infopass is for inside the US only. Any other suggestions?

Oh! I caught that you were planning to leave, but I didn't get the part where you're already gone.

Apologies for the misunderstanding, and perhaps someone else will have a suggestion.

Conditions Removed! Ten-year green card received 6/24/2009. No more USCIS for a very long time.

Davd,

Do you still have your NOA for the "abandoned" AOS? Perhaps you can try checking online status and see if it shows that the application has been closed?

Why not start by calling the USCIS and find out what they can tell you is showing for your case status. Other than that you need to give them a chance to update the file. The interview letter would have been generated several days inadvance of you receiving it, and it could take weeks to properly file your withdrawal letter. Look at the interview date verses the date they recieved your letter and adjust your worrying around whether or not USCIS will have enough time to process the letter before the interview. In the meantime call regularly and watch your case status. Best of luck:-)
