A song for us all

I just turned on the country station and heard a song that made me think of VJ... I looked it up on google and it's called 'Please come home soon' by SheDaisy. Anyone else got an 'immigration' song?

I put away the groceries

And I take my daily bread

I dream of your arms around me

As I tuck the kids in bed

I don't know what you're doin'

And I don't know where you are

But I look up at that great big sky

And I hope you're wishin' on that same

bright star

I wonder, I pray

[Chorus:]

And I sleep alone

I cry alone

And it's so hard livin' here on my own

So please, come home soon

(Come home soon)

I know that we're together

Even though we're far apart

And I'll wear our lucky penny 'round my neck

Pressed to my heart

I wonder, I pray

[Repeat Chorus]

[bridge:]

I still imagine your touch

It's beautiful missing something that much

But sometimes love needs a fighting chance

So I'll wait my turn until it's our turn to dance

I wonder, I pray

[second Chorus:]

I sleep alone

I cry alone

Without you this house is not a home

So please, come home soon

[Third Chorus:]

I walk alone

I try alone

I'll wait for you, don't want to die alone

So please, come home soon

Come home soon

Come home soon

everytime i hear that song... it makes me cry... *sigh*...

today has been pretty rough too... it is getting closer for us to receive the noa2... and this is when we found out last year that my mom had cancer... next month will be the anniversary of her death... today, it seems like the stress of it all... my mom's cancer, the k1 process... missing Jamal... missing my Mom... and trying to carry on as if everything is A-Ok... well... it is just getting to me today... *sniff*... feel like crying my eyeballs out at this moment... but, I am at work no-less... so... must keep a stiff upper lip...

*hugs kajikit*

sorry... didn't mean to vent into your thread here

Tho' lovers be lost, love shall not... and death shall have NO dominion!

didn't Bob write a song about "no women..no cry"

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

 ...This thread sure brings back sad memories...here's a virtual HUG to all those still waiting to be with their loved ones.

I was just thinking of Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting", but there's a tone more that always make me teary...like John Michael Montgomery's "I miss you a little" (I think that's what it's called).

Thank you Kajikit for starting this thread!!!

Dixie_Peach: So sorry to hear about your mom... *hugs* (F)

My song for the day is a Gretchen Wilson, but don't take it to heart. I'm having a rough day :)

I don't feel like loving you today,

So don't you even try to change my mind,

The best thing you can do right now,

Is just go away,

Cause I don't feel like loving you today,

I don't wanna talk about last night,

I'm angry and I haven't had much sleep,

And I'm so tired and bloodshot,

There's no tellin' what I'd say,

I don't feel like loving you today,

But you know I will anyway,

Even though we make it hard sometimes,

I'll wind up forgiving and probably loving you,

For the rest of my life,

But I don't feel like loving you today,

And I've got 16 hours left to go,

I might tell you that I'm leaving,

Even though you know I'll stay,

Cause I don't feel like loving you today,

But you know I will anyway,

Even though we make it hard sometimes,

I'll wind up forgiving and probably loving you,

For the rest of my life,

But I don't feel like loving you today,

I just don't feel like loving you today.

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

Songs are a good outlet....lets you get lost for awhile. I'll be burning a disc tonight for my flight tomorrow. Not quite sure what to put on it yet though.

I just listened to this song. Now there is another song I can listen to when I feel sorry for myself and am on the couch eating bon-bons. Seems like these songs get to me more than usual these days.

With or Without You by U2....it's not 100% applicable, but close enuff:

See the stone set in your eyes

See the thorn twist in your side

I wait for you

Sleight of hand and twist of fate

On a bed of nails she makes me wait

And I wait without you

With or without you

With or without you

Through the storm we reach the shore

You give it all but I want more

And I’m waiting for you

With or without you

With or without you

I can’t live

With or without you

And you give yourself away

And you give yourself away

And you give

And you give

And you give yourself away

My hands are tied

My body bruised, she’s got me with

Nothing to win and

Nothing left to lose

And you give yourself away

And you give yourself away

And you give

And you give

And you give yourself away

With or without you

With or without you

I can’t live

With or without you

With or without you

With or without you

I can’t live

With or without you

With or without you
