a) no.. i dont buy the aztlan bs... im not even a chicano, so i dont give a cr@p bout it.. fyi, mexicans and chicanos don't get a long..

B) Mechas don't lynch guys who look hispanic or threaten communities.. or do u have cases of them holding rallies against white people? a civil disobedience doesnt mean

"The Center filed suit today against two Klansmen who savagely beat a teenage boy at a carnival in Kentucky last July.

The Klansmen apparently targeted the 16-year-old boy, whose father is a Kuna Indian from Panama, because they thought he was Hispanic. They beat, kicked and spit on him during the attack, which occurred shortly after midnight at the Meade County Fairgrounds in Brandenburg, Ken. They also shouted racial epithets and threw whiskey on him."

news

is that the same?? or do you say as long as MEcha exists you condone what the klansmen are doing?

So what the heck are you getting at?

That any attempt to control illegal immigration from Mexico = KKK???

I really don't see what the KKK has to do with this thread. Or MEcha for that matter too. The thread was about a former Border Patrol agent's take on illegal immigration. I think the guy is mostly on target.

And...NO...I do not condone or support the KKK.

I do condone and support the right of the USA to enforce immigration laws and to control the sovereignty of the border. I do not believe illegal aliens should get amnesty or that they should be given permanent residency for breaking immigration laws.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

I'm a conservative, I support securing the southern border, and I think the letter is right on. I know the reconquistador movement exists because I used to work with folks who were into that when I was a Native American rights activist in my very young days. I also lobbied against the 1986 amnesty. We're all suckers going through proper immigration channels when some just show up and demand rights. I thank the spring 2006 protesters for bringing a growing problem to the attention of those who usually pay no attention beyond the sports channel and their last beer. They need to keep up their nonsense so that more people object to the give away of all things USA.

my point is that, this debate is creating a hostile environment and separating the people instead of finding a unifying solution for a common good.. now these stupid r@cist groups are growing all across the states, and thanks to the several vigilante-ish groups like the minutemen, any crazy wacko who claims to defend the white race finds lame arguments to start killing brown people..

while i agree that immigration laws should be enforced, there should be another way which doesn't create hostilities as it is now, full of extremism and anger.. even if the 'let's invade Mexico' sounds like a joke for someone, for an @sshole clan might sound like a truth and start something violent..

One thing the retired border officer glosses over sloppily, in my opinion; the idea that Americans will do the work "for a decent wage."

Can I just say, no ######, Sherlock? The problem isn't that at some hypothetical wage that Americans would do the work, it's that you're unlikely to find an American who is going to work many of the jobs *as they are* at the ####### wages currently paid. It's not just a matter of sending the illegals home and hiring Americans, because Americans aren't going to work for sub-sub-poverty level work.

Also, I think two of his statements contradict each other: either illegal immigration is a big part of the economy and sucking away jobs, or it isn't. It can't be both at the same time.

We gotta get the illegals either documented or sent back, and probably a combination of both, but if we want it not to be a problem, we're going to have to rework NAFTA. Canadians aren't crossing the border and it's not because northern people are more lawful or that we put up a REALLY long fence, it's that the economy in Canada is healthy, the state has a good security net, and it's nice to live there.

Ha!

I can remember poor old Ross Perot describing NAFTA as that 'giant sucking sound' of the American economy and jobs heading south - geographically.

And everybody thought he was a nutcase.

I remember that too!

"During World War I Mexico allowed German Spies to operate freely in Mexico to spy on the U.S. During World War II Mexico allowed the Axis powers to spy on the U.S. from Mexico"

BS.. that was a bunch of commies that later got exhiled from the country.. he should also mention about the dozens of CIA and DEA agents operating in Mexico without a notice to the embassies or the mexican goverment.. supplying arms to the Zapatista guerrilla in the south...

This is not an isolated event here... CIA also has backed its interests via arms and money toward war that killed thousands in places like Nicaragua, Colombia, Panama... and the list continues. So if we want to talk about having spies... why not start there or about how the School of the Americas continues to train foreign soldiers to carry out their interest in the south, our neighbors. Funny how things can seem biased and that we are being infiltrated; pointing the finger at those "third world" countries when we have neglected to see how our own country has played a major role in the degradation of such countries. But hey... maybe thinking that as humans we are ALL equal and not just the rich fortunate ones is a bit far fetched for a lot of "Americans." Oh and by the way... we are all Americans, not just us that live in the US. It is after all North, Central and South America.

I like how this was started... "There is a huge amount of propaganda and myths circulating about illegal aliens, particularly illegal Mexican, Salvadorian, Guatemalan and Honduran aliens." Doesn't he actually continue to spread more myths himself and degrade yet other human beings? So maybe I am more sympathetic or at least have a heart, but once you actually look to see what life is like and has been like for people living where he mentions... maybe you would change the tune you sing. I can see that I am not going to be too popular amongst this crowd, but hey we all need our feathers rustled right? Then let me just continue to mention all that offends me and I find actually inaccurate about what this man mentions in his article.

1. "Americans" may be vain about thinking that everyone wants US citizenship... yet aren't US citizens who refer to the rest of the world as third world and an infiltration of such people to be the trashing of this nation also vain?

2. After even mentioning his comment about trashing this nation by peoples of South bordering countries makes me ill... how has this nation been trashed? Just because there is a bit more diversity and people are not all speaking "your" language? To even say that allowing illegal immigrants to stay is trashing this nation makes you ignorant and once again proves the stereotype of the "better than thou" attitude that does not give a second thought to what happens outside his/her own neighborhood, let alone the nation. What you cannot see does not concern you I guess... or at least that is what it would seem by this man's comments.

3. "Since when is wanting a better life a good reason to trash another nation?" Let me ask my own question now... Since when does being a US citizen give you the right to claim you are better than the rest of the world? Here is another question for you... Is the "better life" Bill Gates or Trump or any other of the 280 million US citizens the same "better life" that illegal immigrants want? Pretty sure Trump is not going to settle for the same "better life" a Mexican or Guatemalan immigrant is striving for.

4. "You, as a politician, have a choice to offend the illegal aliens who have stolen into this country and demanded the rights afforded to U.S. citizens or to offend those of us who are stakeholders in this country." And who is to say that all US citizens will be offended when we actually allow these immigrants to stay and give a helping hand to a neighbor in need?

I know this will be later ripped apart, but what do I have to lose? I just could not sit and read such offensive material and neglect to share my opinion. My bigges concern is that as U.S. citizens we like to shout how great we are and how much we help other nations, yet complain at something like this. People are afraid of what they do not know in this society and this is just another example of that.

And everybody thought he was a nutcase.

Except now it isn't going just to Mexico... now they're going to China and India, too....

And now it's not just manufacturing and goods.. now it's knowledge and service jobs... both the bedrock of the middle class...

I hate to say it, but we're now in the throws of a decline of the middle class in the US and the rise of a new middle class in the developing world...

But the point I think he's making is that if there were no workers who'd be willing to do the job as cheaply as illegal aliens do, companies would be forced to offer the job at a more reasonable wage & it would no longer be 'sub-sub-poverty level work'
