Not the original Marriage Certificate but the certified original copy of your Marriage you have to send with your file. Certified Copy you can obtain from the Court where you got your Marriage Licence. For the 2006 Tax return, you can send them an explanation letter to USCIS for not sending 2006 Tax return as it is still under process...Hope this information is useful to you...

Best Wishes :innocent:

As long as you are filing before April 15th, 2007 (someone correct my date here if I am wrong please) then the current year's taxes is actually considered 2005. You won't be expected to have your transcripts or even all your W-2s by now.

I just sent a photocopy of my marriage certificate, and it was accepted. As far as I know, you don't need a certified copy. Just follow the instructions on the I-485 and you'll be fine. Good luck.

A certified true copy from a notary is sufficient.

No - nothing needs to be notarized any more in the AOS application, so that would be a waste of money.

You just need to send a photocopy of the marriage certificate you get at the county clerk's office. The confusion arised because the marriage certificate get get from the clerk's office is called a "Certified Copy", because the original always stays on file at the clerk's office. Although "Certified Copies" can be obtained cheaply ($5-10 usually), you only need to send a photocopy of the "Certified Copy" and take the original with you to the interview.
