We were approved yesterday at the Embassy in Delhi. I (American wife) was present but was asked nothing. All questions were asked to my husband and they were all about me and my family. He was not asked anything about his family. We had several red flags, therefore, we were surprised how pleasant our interviewer was. She seemed to have a sparkle in her eyes and seemed delighted to interview. The interview lasted about 5 minutes. I cried tears of happiness when she told us the visa was approved.

Hi All,

Thanks for you support

Could you please help me with these questions

1) I got visa with a expiration date...is there any date we have lookout for or just visa expiration date is the final date before which we have to enter USA

2) what kind of questions should expect at entry port...pls share experience

3) apart from sealed packet do I need to carry any other document... Read somewhere that xray doc required but we didn't get any from max hospital Delhi except CD

4) since we are immigrating then return ticket is not required right

5) form that we need to fill at Delhi and entry port airport

6) to be eligible for work does it makes sense to ask for ead stamp at entry port rather wait for GC to arrive

7) if ead is not possible then are we eligible to work based on visa given on passport but it has expiration date

As always thanks a lot for helping and sharing information

Thanks

My fiancé in India is having her interview in a week and of course it is fiancé visa. I am a white American male and I will be with her during the interview. Will we face any bad looks from interviewers from the fact that an Indian lady is engaged to a white man?

Does she have to buy a return ticket?

An interracial marriage is not uncommon nowadays, but not common either. So you guys are likely to attract scrutiny, but try to ignore the noise. Some questions you'd encounter.. How'd you guys meet? Does her family embrace you? What are the odds she's marrying you for love and not for a visa?

Hi, My wife and I were an interracial couple that went through this process. Check our profile for the write up of the experience. It's entirely possible you won't be allowed up to the window with her, but your presence, assuming everything appears on the up and up, should be more than enough.

We're also available for any questions you might have,

Tom
