New Delhi embassy Interviews

Thank you for creating this thread..Finally one place where Delhi people are joining hands

I've been noticing there was a mumbai thread, but none for Delhi. So figured I'd start one for Delhi and have folks contribute their experiences or just simply rant if needed, be it in hindi or however.

NY and Delhi temps are pretty much similar for the past one month or so..Its 34 in NYC today and same in Delhi

DC this week is hot and humid.. Likely to begin cooling down as we approach end of summer.

You can somewhat tell what cases are these. You can see some F cases, some really old cases which are def not CR1 but they must be for brother/sister etc...

A majority of summer interviews tend to be student and tourist visas. CR1s have been on the backburner of late, hopefully they'll pick up the slack next month or two.

I'd noticed the past few months VJ was lacking a dedicated Delhi thread, so figured I'd start something and let's see.

I'm just glad folks are finding it helpful and contributing. If you happen to come across Delhi applicants in other threads, feel free to guide them here to this thread. The more folks sharing their experience about Delhi embassy process, the better.

The aim is simple.. to be of assistance to current and future Delhi applicants and their USC spouses here on VJ.

We have a CC on July 22nd, notified in email on July 29th and are awaiting our interview date for our CR1. Anyone with similar dates? It could come anytime. I get different answers every time I call the NVC. The last person, Joshua, said that they will schedule at the end of the month. I do see trends to confirm that and they were scheduling on T, TH, and Fridays (I noticed as a trend) until the last couple of months were I see all random dates, Not sure where we are in the queue but we feel and cancellation could happen and any of us could be scheduled any day now. :joy::goofy::joy:(L):joy::luv::wow::clock:(F):joy:

Its really not easy to keep patience.....

Greetings to all,

Hi. I am John from New Delhi and my wife is in Washington DC. We married in March 2014. Applied for IR1/CR1 visa and our case is received by NVC.

My birth is Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh, a state in India) and I lived there 20 years. Since last 10 years I've been living in Delhi (a state in India).

My questions are :

Que 1 : After NVC has 'accepted the case', what will be the average time to transfer file from NVC to Delhi embassy ?

Que 2 : What will be the average time to get interview date after file is received by Delhi embassy ?

Que 3 : My first passport was issued from Uttar Pradesh and after its expiration, it was re-issued from New Delhi. This current passport is issued since more than 2 years. Apart from PCC from regional passport office Delhi where my last passport issued :

A : Is PCC required from local police Station from Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh , a state in India) ?
B : Is PCC required from local than from Delhi (a state in India) ?

Que 4 : How long does interview take and what are the questionnaires ?

Que 5 : What will be the average time to get the passport back after the interview ?

Que 6: Is there an option to self-collect the passport from the embassy rather than depending on courier service ?

Greetings to all,

Hi. I am John from New Delhi and my wife is in Washington DC. We married in March 2014. Applied for IR1/CR1 visa and our case is received by NVC.

My birth is Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh, a state in India) and I lived there 20 years. Since last 10 years I've been living in Delhi (a state in India).

My questions are :

Que 1 : After NVC has 'accepted the case', what will be the average time to transfer file from NVC to Delhi embassy ?

After NVC has "completed" the case, anywhere from 2-4 months.

Que 2 : What will be the average time to get interview date after file is received by Delhi embassy ?

File is sent to Delhi after interview has already been scheduled.

NO

B : Is PCC required from local than from Delhi (a state in India) ? NO

Only PCC from rpo Delhi

Que 4 : How long does interview take and what are the questionnaires ?

Read the various reviews.

Que 5 : What will be the average time to get the passport back after the interview ?

Usually a few business days, but could be 1-2 weeks in some cases.

Que 6: Is there an option to self-collect the passport from the embassy rather than depending on courier service ?

Likely NO (not aware of self collection) but you may wish to check.

Anyone else with additional information, feel free to add. Thx
