Dear All,

Our interview has been scheduled on October 5 (Monday) at NWD. With this information on hand, will it be alright if we schedule our FINGERPRINT appointment at Nehru Place, Delhi on October 4 (which is a Sunday) as we are not local to Delhi (7 hour drive)? Or, you think an early trip to Delhi will be worth on a safe side?

I will appreciate your feedback on this. Thanks,

Sid

From what I understand, most out of town people schedule it a day before the interview and luckily they are open 1-5 on sunday to accommodate the monday interviews. so you should be ok. and from the reviews i hear from people they are pretty efficient. but technology is technology, if you want to be extra cautious you could go in on thursday but then 2-3 days what will you do there? i'd say you'll be ok.

Dear friends,

Can anyone tell me in detail what to do next? I read the email but it would be nice to know what you did in order to have your loved one near you :)

rdmultani - you will need to do two big things, 1 get your medical done at mohali or delhi and schedule fingerprints at delhi, you could go in on oct 15 or earlier.

http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Medical/NWD%20-%20New%20Delhi.pdf(phone number for medical here)

from what i understand mohali guys are going to tell you to call back end of september but you can try early, not sure, but call and ask.

for fingerprinting go to usatraveldocs.com/in and register yourself and schedule a category 1 appointment for finger prints and picture.

gather all the required docs listed in the interview letter, they will give you a list of documents you will need to bring in with you. which is usually the following:

  1. print interview letter – all pages
  2. print ds-260 confirmation – all pages
  3. PASSPORT
  4. birth certificate
  5. MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
  6. Passport Police Certificate
  7. INDIA POLICE CERTIFICATE
  8. PHOTOGRAPH – get 6-8 recent photographs

to be cautious take all your aos and civil documents you sent to nvc, take your photo album.

hope this helps.

QUESTION: on hubby's P4 letter, at the end it shows documents required for interview with letters that represent that status.

It reports Petitioner's marraige certificate, birth certificate and marraige termination all with the status of F. F shows as "NVC did not request this document".

Does that mean I need to send my originals for hubby to take to the interview or it means they do not need those at all?

Hey TeJi, Ninja and Kierenhby, dont they have biometrics counter inside the embassy right before the interview?

Interview letter does not state anything about Biometrics

It is the 4th then. Thank you for help TeJOGB. There are few other things if readers can shed some light, please:

  1. Our AOS Form I-864EZ with 2014 tax returns was accepted at the NVC without issue (there is no co-sponsor); however, the P4 letter says "Bring updated Federal income tax information to the interview. If ... ...to visa interview." Although, we are taking our copy of submitted I-864EZ with us, would you recommend taking revised (new) I-864 to the interview as well? In other words, what does "Bring updated Federal income tax..." specify?
  2. Can we take our wedding album (hard bind with 11" x 17" sheets) to the interview as a proof of relationship or a few loose pictures of us?
  3. If anyone has experience dealing with Max Super Specialty Hospital, Mohali, Punjab:
  • Do they mail the reports directly to NWD embassy or they hand it over to the applicant for interview?
  • How long does it take to get the reports once you are scheduled for medical at Mohali?

Your feedback is appreciated.

Interview letter does not state anything about Biometrics

1. There are only 5 fingerprint locations in all of India. All Delhi interviewees get their biometrics done at Delhi; no biometrics setup in Mohali.

2. If the applicant is driving\flying to Delhi from another State for the interview, it is better to schedule biometrics one day before the interview (arrive a day ahead). From what I've read, you will not be allowed into the embassy without proof of biometrics.

1. Not sure
