Just like u said about having no economical reasons to leave the UK... I felt the same about Canada... I mean, I'm canadian, my country is great, im under no crazy political/religious/economical government...I would have no reason to want to leave my country!

I want to get my own business some day but I have no idea how to start buying a work place...like if i want a restaurant, i don't know how to start..

It's rather sad (and funny) to think that we aren't really dangerous on economic grounds for wanting to stay!

For those of us that drove across the border, proving the day we entered can be difficult. I realized that straight off the bat when I looked at my passport which has a grand total of one stamp in it for the two years I've it, and I entered the US at least five times with it! Only the last time did they stamp it for the AP. I was told by the USCIS line as soon as we were married and I called that I should retain any evidence that proves I was in the country on that day and the only thing I have, sadly, is the receipt from the La Quinta Inn to prove that I stayed overnight in Oregon.

So I think we may, by virtue of having that great, undefended border, be a bit unique when it comes to proving how we entered. I also hope this long letter sent to family and friends about the questions I was asked will serve, but I might edit out my opinions of the border guard. ^^;;

Yeah, Canadians are indeed special. I think they will take into consideration that the travel.gov or whatever site clearly states you don't need a passport or anything to enter US from Canada. It even says right on that page that sometimes the border guards will take a verbal statement that you are a Canadian citizen! It's sad, but it's true. I'm not worried about proving Jay (husband) came into the US legally. Even so, I do have a receipt from the Canadian border guards proving that I picked up my $500 they made me leave them when I left my car in their beauteous country. So I'd say that proves we were inspected. Why would we drive to the border, turn in that receipt and get a new one and then drive back into Canada!? The Canadians would be after me, for sure! So I'm golden.

I was just reading your timeline and realized that we have some similarities. My hubbie and I were married on 11/20/2004...just 4 days after you! I am from Canada, I am fluent in French and all of my family is from Quebec. We were a little slow in getting my AOS underway, so my attorney presently has our package and is just about ready to send it to INS. I am new to this site and have read lots of useful information regarding this whole process. Good luck on your AOS interview!!!!
