I'm traveling to Puerto Rico in a couple of days and I can't find my passport. I'm pulling the house apart trying to find it. Can anyone let me know if I will be ok travelling with only my Green card? I'm beginning to panic over here.

AFAIK you will need your passport to re-enter the US.

Recently we did a cruise to Mexico, upon embarkation they only looked at our green cards but after the cruise on re-entry to the US (Long Beach) the immigration officer asked to see our passports with our GCs.

You need a passport to get on a flight to travel outside of the conterminous United States via a foreign port. If that flight doesn't touch any foreign port, you are good.

It is required only when you fly!

Puerto Rico is a US territory so you won't need a passport. You should just bring your government issued ID (green card).

you need it for any travel outside the 5 mile limits

i took cruise to Virgin Islands , also a US territory and passports are requied in port of Miami for reentry

i am US citizen

but we were told when passport came in mail to make 2 copies (no one is allowed to make colored copies)

you can make an appointment if you are long enough in embassy in Puerto Rico and ask for help to replace it

but seriously, you do need it
