hi, all:

i submitted my I-129F application in Oct 2006 and got NOA1 at the end of OCT (or very early of Nov 2006). I'm located in Madison WI, so i sent the application in to Nebraska Service center, but it seems that USCIS forwarded it to Califorina. today is 2-24-2007 and i still haven't got any update on the NOA2. i checked USCIS case status web site almost twice a day since the very beginning. it simply just keep saying "case filed and pending" (or something similar to that). no touches, no update... i also tried calling USCIS several times. each time, i was told the web site had the most recent data and the folks on the phone did not have any more recent update.

what's going on?? i've seen people who submitted I-129F after me already got their NOV2. same service center, but much later I-127F and NOA1 dates, they've already got theirs. what's wrong with mine? why hasn't it even been touched? (btw, what does "touch" mean? i've seen many "touched" threads on this forum but no explanation of what it is).

i also checked the processing date table on USCIS for I-129F, it seems that they've only processed to August 22, 2006 so far. what's the delay? that timeline seems much (much) longer than 99 days (the average processing date people have been reporting on this website for CSC).

I just got back from China. i was there for 2 weeks for the Chinese new year. when i was there, i spent every single precious moment with my fiancee. i miss her so much right now...

i think i'm beginning to have a nervous breakdown...

(thanks for any input)

Hello ch1ch1! Maybe this information will help a little... ppfkl posted this in other topic so I just copy-paste it here.

As far as processing time, the whole process will vary from country to country. However the first step (NOA2) is pretty much the same for everyone depending on the service center you went through. Cases are served on a first-come first-served basis. Typically people take 80-90 days to get their NOA2. We all watch the dates carefully. You can go to the Immigration Timelines section and do your own queries. Here's that stats that I look at every day.

- 81% (66 of 81) October CSC NOA1s have received their NOA2.

- 85% (53 of 62) November CSC NOA1s have received their NOA2.

- 10% (5 of 48) December CSC NOA1s have received their NOA2.

- 0% (0 of 27) January CSC NOA1s have received their NOA2.

- 50% of CSC filers should receive their NOA2 within 81 days of their NOA1.

- 84% of CSC filers should receive their NOA2 within 91 days of their NOA1.

- 98% of CSC filers should receive their NOA2 within 100 days of their NOA1.

- It takes about 30 days for approved petitions to reach the appropriate consulate.

I guess you're one of the 19% October filers without NOA2 until now...

Good luck to you! Hope you'll receive yours anytime now!

You are still within normal processing times so no need to worry. Petition processing does NOT differ depending on the country of the benficiary. But each case is different and there's no sense in comparing your case to others, other than to get an idea of average processing time.

sorry, the title should've said NOV1, not NOV I. my bad.

 ch1ch1, you are really distracted. It's going to be ok. A touch is when the "last updated" date changes on the uscis site.

hi, all:

is it possible that my i-129F application package is lost by CSC? my fiancee read somewhere on a Chinese K1 related forum about a lost package case. one of the users on that site posted a message telling people USCIS lost her i-129F package even though she received NOA1. she waited about 6 months and still no update, so she called USCIS various times. each time she was told the agency could not find the case material (i.e. the case does not exist). she argued that how the case didn't exist if she had a case number and NOA1. finally about 2, 3 months later she called another agency that monitors the performance of USCIS and this agency found her package. it was misplaced.

i certainly don't mean anything negative about USCIS in general. i'm just worried that my case may be also lost. is it possible? if my package is indeed lost, what should i do? how would i make sure that CSC still has my package and it is indeed just waiting to be processed (SOON)?

any feedback would be appreciated!

You already got the NOA1 so that means they got your package... I'm not sure if its really possible that they'll misplace yours... There's this one poster here who used to work at USCIS in Nebraska. You better ask him about your concern. He got a thread started and he can answer all your questions pertaining to your case...

Good luck!

You know your package was received. Just try to relax and sit tight - it has not been that long, you are still within normal processing time and your NOA2 will come.

a "touch" simply means that someone within the UCIS office has touched or moved your file. It can mean that it was moved literally from one desk to another. It's barcode on the file is scanned everytime the file changes hands or desks for one reason or another. Unfortunatley a touch doesn't necessarily mean that there has been any progress on a case file (or that there hasn't been). Check out HUSKERKIEV -1st post from a former NVC employee--it's about 4 pages back. He has given great insight into what touched mean and a ton of other insider insights.

best of luck and here's to being touched!!!

I know a little about how it feels to be 'left behind' - but not as bad as you! I think the numbers David -Mae posted are very interesting - and somewhat comforting for those of us who seem to be on the 'slow track'.

What infuriates me is the notion of having no information whatsoever. Personally, I think it'd be comforting to know if my case had been pulled for an additional check or whatever (as opposed to the black hole that it feels like you're sitting in). You'd think if its your personal information and your LIFE that you would at least be entitled to some information beyond 'its pending'. At least once you get past, say 100 or so days.

But, trying to find rhyme or reason in anything done by the government is just a futile effort.

I hope this week is the week for both of us. :)

ch1ch1:

Now is NOT the time to panic! Nothing comes quickly when it relates to the USCIS.

Try not to have your fiancee worry about "lost packages that she read about on a Chinese K-1 Website!" Stuff like that will ONLY drive you and her CRAZY.

Take 2 Valium and sit tight ....

Good luck!

Trust me when I say its easier said than done to just 'calm down' or 'take a valium'.

We all realize patience is necessary in this process - but when everyone else whizzes past you for reasons you are not privy to, your patience unfortunately starts to wane. Being told to 'take a valium' is a tad inconsiderate, esp. from people who got their NOA2s in record time.

I wouldn't wish the wait that ch1ch1 has had on anyone.

I normally am more patient than this, but after seeing many Oct/Nov fliers have got their NOA2, I can't help but panic. thanks all for the kind words. i'll keep my hopes up.
