I have not heard that. I know some people can get in to Egypt without visa if they are 18 or below and 55 or higher. Some get security clearance from Egypt immigration office which allow their spouse to enter Egypt. I know some were able to get security clearance and others were rejected.

how do they get the security clearance? do they go to Egypt themselves and request it for their spouse?

that is correct...you need to go there and apply for your wife or husband. you explain to them that they need to attend an interview at the embassy. you will need to fill in some papers. they say it will take a week to process but in reality it took 4 weeks for some. I would recommend to speak to someone with higher position when you go to their immigration building. I must warn you the immigration building which is in Cairo is one of the worst places I have ever been to. Very busy very crowded and extremely unorganized.

I choice not to do it because I was skeptical and didn't want to wait until they say yes or no although the immigration director of that location told us that it was the best way. I also already made the transfer request to Algeria so it was late for me to do it. Two of the people I know decided to do it, one of them was able to get security clearance for all his family (keep in mind not all of them were approved at the same time. some took longer than others) and the other person was rejected for unknown reasons.

My case is in the process to transfer it to Algeria. it was approved on 7/23 to transfer but haven't heard back yet since. They might be waiting for the files to arrive before they can schedule an interview.

Alhamdullilah my wife got a interview in Algiers for next month.

Congrats!

just wondering, when was your case approved for transfer to Algeria? I just want to estimate how soon I can have the interview for my wife. The approval to transfer was granted in 7/23 for my wife.
