Hey, I know my case is far off from everyones on this forum but I just wanted to ask some questions. I know that for yemeni cases, they give both the petitioner and beneficiary appointments. I filed my i130 for my husband in february of this year and in August it was transfered to my local office in ny and uscis told me I have to wait for them to schedule me an interview. I was just wondering how long does it take from when you file the i130 for the petitioner to get an interview.

with yemeni cases they never given you a timeframe. be proactive in with your case because if you don't, trust me, they will let it collect dust.

my suggest is that once it's in your local office, go to your local office website and schedule an inforPASS appointment. Go to the office for when you scheduled the appointment. usually you get a number and talk to someone at a window. usually (depending on who you get) are not very helpful. If they kinda of give you the whole "it will take a while to schedule an appointment and we will contact you." request to speak to a supervisor and explain that you filed for your husband. there's currently a war in yemen, you're worried about your husband safety and would like to move on with this process as soon as possible and hopefully he can give you more helpful feedback.

good luck and let us know how it goes

congrats...how many days in advance did he receive the interview date? I just want to make sure we have enough time before the interview date.

I thought the administrative processing was normal and that it will only take days to complete it.

Aww Alhamdulillah and Mabrouk! That's really exciting you're one step closer and In Sha Allah it will be over soon.

Can I ask what did they ask him during the interview?

congrats.Just weird that after all that waiting and circumstances they still put u guys on AP. Wallah I'm so sick of this process. I call the NVC three times a week and their so useless.

There is literally no one to talk to and the embassy hasn't responded to my emails in two months. For those that their case was in Cairo I suggest emailing Cairo. I emailed them to ask

when my file was sent and what kind of file. Not even 24 hrs later they replied that my case was transferred electronically and physically in July. which means my case has been sitting pretty at Algiers for

four months with no interview while they continue to transfer cases from nvc and give people interviews. Trying to patient. Just reaching a breaking point. Talked to nvc and asked for a supervisor, surprise they told me

there isn't one available and the lady said in the most monotone voice, when is the best time to call u back. I laughed and said ,"You guys aren't going to call back". Just so sickening of how unorganized and unfair this system is. My case left NVC in MAY, I can't even believe it is December and my husband STILL doesn't have an interview. Before the war they would say the only way to expedite or make the case move faster is during circumstances like humanitarian but now that there is war its the same bullcrap response to wait and there is nothing they can do.

Does anyone have a lawyer? Do they help? Someone was telling me that this is the only way that they will respond.

yes I do have a lawyer. having a lawyer is very useful but once your case is on the embassy it becomes hard especially for Yemeni cases. The responses my lawyer got were the same responses I got. probably I could have obtained a better lawyer.

How long does the Algerian embassy wait till they contact you for a visa interview after your process is transferred

my case was transferred from Cairo and it took 4 months to transfer it. All the files (physical and electronic) received by the embassy on Nov 19th. for Yemeni cases it can be hard to determine as they first work on older cases first. when was your petition approved? also your priority date?

I am wondering if they are scheduling interviews the last two weeks of this month considering all the upcoming holidays.

My husbands case was transferred to US embassy in Algeria. I have been emailing the embassy and they dont reply back. All I get is automated responses. I checked the ceac for a status update and it says "REFUSED" and to check the letter you recieved at the time of the interview. First, he hasnt had an interview at the embassy yet as his case just got transferred and second why would they refuse it. Has anyone got the same response? Is this a glitch?

I requested for my husbands case to be transferred and I got and email back saying that the NVC received my inquiry and has changed the U.S. Embassy and I got a new case number. So what does that mean?? Does that mean my case has been successfully transferred since I got a new case number or not yet.

Since they aren't replying to your emails call NVC. Maybe it was a mistake the sooner you contact them the faster you can fix the problem. Khair In sha Allah
