Anyone know why Algeria doesn't give appointment yet????

actually they are giving appointments but there are so many Yemenis currently in Algeria. Algeria is now the primary location for Yemeni cases and all new cases go to Algeria automatically. since they started processing cases that completed in 2010 so not sure how long will take to give appointments for cases completed recently. They also mentioned on the Algerian embassy that recent cases will take several months to receive appointment dates.

I hope sooner InsAallah.

The other issue that only very few that sign up here at visa journey and the majority don't even know this website exist.

Honestly how can I weigh the pros n cons when I keep getting different information about everything. Really I don't know what information is the right information. You have ppl that say Djibouti is great n worth going n then u have those that say what you are saying about the case transfers... idk who to believe it just all gets me so confused and I think we all just have to make a decision and Djibouti is sounding a bit better to me. I KNOW it's a huge risk and I'm not saying that I'm officially going with that everything is up to Allah but I am continuing to here good things about Djibouti. Idk if you all are in touch with or contact marhaba service in new York but one of the workers told me that Djibouti is accepting case transfers without having to physically be in Djibouti. Your spouse/relative would just have to go for the appointment. I'm currently still looking into that to see if it's true but I've been hearing that for a while and he told me he's been transferring his clients cases that way.

May Allah guide us through to the right path inshaAllah

SubhanAllah it's all Makateeb. My uncles family went to Egypt and just got their visas, I know people who stayed in Dijibouti only for 2 weeks and came in and I know people who took them 6 months or even more. My friends parents got deported to Yemen a couple of years ago and guess what they got their visas and her son which she had in Yemen hasn't gotten a thing. He should get a passport since she is a citizen. She's already brought in her husband and her parents but her son nothing.

So I think we should just follow our heart and In Sha Allah it will be the best because I guess no two people is gonna be the same everyone's having a different experience which is very hard because I know we all want reassurance on what we end up choosing but I guess there is no way of finding out except having patience and faith in Allah and everything will all work out in the end.

أمييييييين that's so true. That's exactly how I feel with this entire process. It's so hard even if people tell you what to do or which way to go everyone just has their maktoob. We just all need to itwakal 3ala Allah. The NVC, before my case got completed, kept telling me to send in my paperwork. I sent everything in 3 times. And seriously some people would tell me don't send them again but the nvc kept askn for them. I'd call and some reps would say you have to send them some would say no. Even the supervisors nobody gave me a clear answer whatsoever. And then a couple of days after I sent the 3rd package, no joke. They tell me it's completed. Wallah I don't know which package they looked at, it could be the very first one that they said was "misplaced" or the very last one. Wallah it's so confusing and soo hard alhamdillah but we have to be strong and have strong iman. Like you said we have to follow our hearts and itwakal and be reassured that we have Allah by our side no matter what.

I'm so sorry for the long messages you all are probably like this girl write to much, but just a quick question. For those of you waiting for an appointment...

Is there anything we can do while we wait? Should we contact NVC? If so, what do we say? Or do we contact the embassy? What do we do now?

I feel weird just ...waiting. A friend of mine told me we shouldn't bug them now, just wait. Did you guys hear anything different?

Yea, his family first went to Dijibouti and stayed about 3 to 4 months waiting while he went to Egypt, I'm not sure what he did exactly for them to be able to go. Then they stayed about 3/4 months in Egypt till they got their visas. It's been a very long process.

I've heard so many things. I heard if you don't bug them your case won't get anywhere and I've also heard if you bug them too much it can delay your case or even ruin it. Supposidly some girl bugged the NVC so much that her husbands case got canceled and he's been in Dijibouti for months. But you know how people are, word spreads from person to person and no one knows the truth. So honesty like I said just follow your heart and do what you think is right because I really don't think there is a right or wrong answer because everyone's case is different.

My priority date is January 17 2013 and my completion date is August 24,2013 ....... Also I know how u feel about seeing an update I had given up on wanting an interview I at least wanted my case to update to feel that someone out there is looking at my case. So the day I got my interview was the first time I got an update after 3 months and a half .. Anyways that day I checked my email and the embassy actually sent me 2 emails one email said :

Dear Sir/Madam:

Please be advised that we have not received you case yet. We will contact Cairo to send it to us

Best,

Immigrant Visa Section, U.S. Embassy Algiers

This email is UNCLASSIFIED.

Put in note my case was transfered and arrived there "electronicly" in July ...Okay so this email was actully a reply to an email I sent them back in August.. And the other email was sent like a half hour later with his interview date alhamdlilah ! I don't know if they had already had it but then found it or once they look at ur case they can personally ask cairo for it I don't know but inshallah Khair ... I'm one of those who had their case in cairo and had an appt there and had to go through all that pain of the long wait and not knowing what will happen to us from cairo .. But alhamdlilah I can finally say they are looking at our cases so just be patient and have sabr. Iv had such a stressful and depressing wait for this but alhamdlilah.. Oh my case did update again 2 days later after I got my interview ..so when my husband does his Interviw in January it will be a lttle over 6 months there but alhamdlilah my heart is finally set instead of waiting with no word from the embassy

Are all the cases in Algeria and Egypt recent and first time applications or transfer cases?

Is it possible to petition overseas?

I was told you have to be approved by USCIS and NVC first before the petition goes overseas, but that seems to take a long time.

This is the email you get from algeria.. also, i think you might be able to expedite your case through USCIS. this is the link to uscis website and at the very bottom it stated about expedite. also, have you tried any other coutnries (Malayasia, Sudan, gulf countries, Djibouti, email them all, so you know what your options are. Also call USCIS and ask there too

[*] Yemeni Immigrant Visa Applicants [cid:image005.png@01D0AC2E.A3A88DB0]

The Department of State has designated the U.S. Embassy in Algiers as the primary processing post for all Yemeni cases that have not already been accepted for transfer at another U.S. post. Therefore, there is no reason to request that a Yemeni case be transferred to Algiers. The National Visa Center (NVC) is scheduling Yemeni cases in Algiers in the order the cases were received, starting with approved petitions ready for processing in 2010. That means that petitions that were approved more recently may need to wait several months for an appointment. The NVC will notify applicants when their case is ready for scheduling in Algiers.

Because the Algerian government generally does not permit Yemeni citizens to remain in Algeria for more than 90 days, Yemeni applicants should not travel to Algeria until their case has been scheduled by the NVC. Once the case is scheduled, we advise applicants to plan to be in Algeria for at least one month while the case is processed.

We understand the difficult circumstances in Yemen and are processing as many cases as we can, as quickly as possible. In order to be fair to all applicants we are processing them chronologically in the order they were received. The only circumstance in which a case will be considered for expeditious processing (that is, ahead of all the other cases in the queue) is if there is a documented medical emergency affecting the petitioner or beneficiary. For Yemeni applicants currently in a country other than Yemen, Algeria, or Jordan, you may request transfer of your case to the U.S. Embassy in that country.

To request expeditious processing (again only for medical emergencies) or to request transfer of your case to another post, please contact the National Visa Center<https://secureforms.travel.state.gov/ask-nvc.php>.

very important

Further instruction from Department of State, we are no longer accepting I-130 petition. U.S. citizens seeking to apply on behalf of their immediate relatives, has to apply with USCIS in United States. Information about this process is available athttp://www.uscis.gov/i-130.

Hey, I know my case is far off from everyones on this forum but I just wanted to ask some questions. I know that for yemeni cases, they give both the petitioner and beneficiary appointments. I filed my i130 for my husband in february of this year and in August it was transfered to my local office in ny and uscis told me I have to wait for them to schedule me an interview. I was just wondering how long does it take from when you file the i130 for the petitioner to get an interview.
