It took four days which is exactly what the US consulate in Egypt told my senator that will take. They didn't say anything about the physical file. Perhaps I don't have a physical file. When NVC sent my file to Cairo before all this madness it was an electronic file per the person that communicated to me from the US console in Cairo. However, I think I should contact NVC regardless and find out. thank you for bringing that up:)

Did your husband's file came from Sana or NVC to Egypt before your transferred it to Algeria?

That's what they told me too, when i contacted nvc about file and whether it's electronic or phsyical and they told me that it was only electronic and that they never sent my phsycial file to egypt because it's an electronic embassy and even a supervisor at NVC told me that, but as it turned out egypt had both physical and electronic, but again your case might be different because i transferred mine in May. my husband's case came from NVC to egypt.

have you filed the sponor's forms yet? did you do the new version or old one? on the new one they ask for mailing address and the firsit thing they have is a "in care of name" what does that mean?

Hello

I am in the same boat with you, i got email october-1-2015 that my wife case is complete. now waiting for appointment interview date, I called NVC to ask where the interview will take place, I was told it automatically will go to Algeria, SO we just have to wait for that email from NVC.

To answer your q."in care of name"

I face the same question, after searching for answers, you can leave it empty or or put the name of the petitioner.in my case i put my name and my home address.

Anyone know why Algeria doesn't give appointment yet????

from the U.S embassy website in algeria :

The National Visa Center (NVC) is scheduling Yemeni cases in Algiers in the order the cases were received, starting with approved petitions ready for processing in 2010. That means that petitions that were approved more recently may need to wait several months for an appointment. The NVC will notify applicants when their case is ready for scheduling in Algiers.

Oh see that's so confusing because I had called and ask where his case is going to be sent since it's complete they couldn't tell because they said that his case has not been assigned to any specific Country that it can be sent anywhere. So I emailed them over a month ago so I can have his case be sent to Algeria and never got a reply. I'm try to be patient, I just want that reassurance that his interview will be in Algeria or any other place other than Egypt.

Thanks Good Luck too you too.

when i called NVC, I asked, is it up to me to choose what country i want them to send my case to or they decide ?
she said they used to send yemen cases to Egypt and Algeria, and since Egypt been having security issues, now only Algeria deal with Sanaa cases .
So only people who doesn't want to go to Algeria can submit a request to transfer their case to another country, other than that your case will go to Alegria automatically .
Anybody get the interview date, please let us know how long it take from the date the file was complete to the date he/she received the interview. appointment date ,
Thank you.

Salaaam!

Our case FINALLY got reviewed and completed after 3 months. I'm happy but goodness how much longer??? Now we have to wait for the interview and like you alll my case was supposed to go to algeria n I do have an Algerian case number. Question for u all, dd you guys get ur sanaa case numbers changed to an Algerian one with ALG at the beginning? I'm just curious.

Algeria is taking so long and I haven't heard of any recent appointments. I asked a guy from marhaba services in NY and he said nobody knows it can take from 6 months plus. So we were thinking to go to Djibouti. I know, it's hard there but honestly the people that go there are the only ones that I've noticed are coming in quick. It's a risk but inshaAllah Allah picks the right path for us to go on and inshaAllah that path isn't too bumpy.

My sisters husband just got here today from Saudia and you guys it's so beautiful and amazing. InshaAllah Allah reunites us all very soon with our loved ones.

Congrats. on your case complete.. My case was completed in August of 2014 and originally had SAA case number., when I transferred. It to Egypt may 2015 it changed from SAA Ytc and had cro at the end. When I transferred it to Algeria it stayed Ytc but the end changed to alg.

As for transferring, if I were in your place I wouldn't rush to transfer. My husband is currently in Algeria and ppl that had their cases transferred from NVC to Algeria got interviews . If I regret anything it was transferring my husband case, but alhamduillah for everything I didn't expect Egypt to do this. Your case recently got completed so wait about a month and pray and see where Allah will lead you.

I am not guaranteeing anything and I am not saying that for sure they will give you an appointment, but Allah knows best. What I am saying is don't rush to transferring and really weight your pros and cons for staying with Algeria or going with dijbouti...also, are you sure that you would be able to transfer to dijbouti? I thought they no longer accept cases, but I could be wrong.
