hello,

for those that enter Algeria the stamp on your passport was it just the entry stamp or did they add anything else along with it.

it was just an entry stamp words written in Arabic indicating three components ( entry, the airport name and the date of entry).

How long have you been in Algeria? Was your file transferred from Cairo? Any updates about your case? Have you been able to go to the embassy?

Hi Hope_14,

I have been in Algeria close to four weeks now and my wife's file is currently showing as transfer in progress from Cairo since it was transferred last week after the senator office contacted the US embassy in Cairo to help me get the file moved to Algeria. Once the file arrives at the US embassy in Algeria, I will push for an interview.

Okay this is weird

I emailed Cairo last about my physical and I got a reply 5am saying that my electronically file was transferred to August 27th and my physical file was transferred September 17 through the TNT and I was given a tracking number. I checked the tracking and it showed that it was delivered on September 22 to Algiers. Now when I check my status on ceac website I get same case number expect one has alg and one cro at the end. The alg said a ready (shown September 17th)and cro said transfer in progress and showing today's date (October 18th) Has this happened to anyone before? And what does that all mean?

Salam everyone,

I requested to transfer my husbands case to Algeria back in June. They transferred it from cairo and my case changed to READY at the end of July,

I emailed them for an appointment and they reply a generic email. my case was updated again in September 21 but I haven't gotten anything from them. I emailed them on September 20th and a month later no response. My husband arrived to Algeria September 28 and I sent another email Oct 3rd with his entry stamp and still no response. I don't get it. I know people that transferred their case months after me and got an interview and are already here. Is anyone having an issue. I don't know who to contact anymore. my priority date is dec 2011 and the date on the ceac website that says case created is july 2013. It will be 4 years since I filed for my husband. Is anyone else having the same problem as me. I'm frustrated because it has been four and a half months since I requested transfer and two and half since it was READY in Algeria.

no I haven't talked to the senator but I have talked to the NVC too many times to even count. They really are clueless and don't give much information and basically say once the case is in the embassy it is out of their hands. I think I will go to the senator this week and see what he will say. I don't know what cairo did but it messed everything up for some of us. I have a friend that transferred her case two months after me and her case was in cairo and Algeria gave her an appointment for her husband in a matter of two months. I don't get how their assigning interviews . ala allah

I am sick of it too. Mostly because Yemeni cases were neglected before the war and now even with the war I feel like my case is being neglected.

Given the situation I don't think the system is fair, they should be moving cases much faster than this.

I contacted my senator yesterday and one of the representatives that I worked with said they will see what is going on and get back to me.

Are you from Michigan? If so did you go to Gary Peters or Debbie Stabenow's office?

Also when was the last time you emailed/got a response from the embassy?

I think i am hitting my lowest point this week. I am so sick wallah. I have been calling NVC and they don't do anything. I have emailed the embassy and they are not replying. I am calling my senator's office and they are not replying. I don't want to sound whiny, but I am about to go crazy. I don't know what to do anymore.

Hi Dear, it seems like you have done everything you can to get your case moving. we are all on the same boat and we are going through these frustrations. The only thing we can do now is to be patient, pray and follow up.....sooner or later will get this done InsAallah. The follow up you are doing now is very helpful. for example, my case would not have moved to Alg from cairo if my senator didn't contact the embassy.

I know what you mean. Everyday I wake up and say "Today is the day they will send me the interview date" and weeks pass and NOTHING.

Inshallah khair at this point all we can do is pray because nothing is in our hands anymore.

This thread has nothing to do with my situation, but I do read it on occasion because I feel so bad for everyone in this situation. The way the Yemenis have been treated has been awful. I was reading as all of your loved ones were fleeing the country and trying to figure where the best place was and how to best navigate a system that doesn't seem to have any clear instructions.

I just wanted to speak up and let you know that there are people that are rooting for you. I could only imagine the heartbreak and suffering that you feel. It's perfectly normal and natural to feel down sometimes, but I admire the courage and the strength that you all have shown throughout your journeys.

My best wishes to you all. Keep your chins up. One day this will all be a bad memory.
