Hey what do u mean by police certificate ?! Like the same one they got in yemen .. Why would u have to get it at the embassy?! Also did u shine light on those that had cases in Egypt and are awaiting physical files to arrive and why their taking so long ?! And what is going to happen to us .. If at all anything ?! ..: thanx a lot for sharing

My wife's certificate expired back in July but the embassy told us that it was not needed and that the US embassy would understand the situation in Yemen so they didn't write me something for us. I know a friend of mine was able to get a letter from them but I guess his expired long time ago.

when I talked to them about the file transfer delays, they mentioned something about an incident happened probably in Egypt but not sure. They were not clear to me about it as if they were not suppose to tell me about that incident but I suspect it had something to do with the delays. I also got the impression that the issue was fixed.

I gave them my contact information and they said that they would contact the US embassy on my behave to ask about my case transfer status and have not heard back yet.

Finally after 80 days since my case was approved for a transfer from Egypt to Algeria, today I noticed my case shows as "Transfer in Progress". Now I have to see how long will take for it to actually transfer to ALG.

BTW, for those who asked about the possibility to extend the stay in Algeria, it was recommended that we apply on the province you are staying at. Alternatively, you can apply on the Yemeni Embassy in Alger and will give you 90 more days to stay.

Hi, yeah I heard a lot of those case from Egypt got either appointments or their case says transfer in progress again which is most likly the actual physical file .. But sadly not us

so when u say 80 days from when your case was accepted for transfer does that mean from when it was first "transfer in progress" or when u got the email that it was accepted in algeria .. So what I'm saying is when it was last updated for me was July 29 the day after it was "transfer in progress".. That was the last I heard from them ..

Can I please ask what date was ur case completed on or ur priority date .. Or both ... Thank you

Oh wait I just noticed .. Um so is this the first time it says transfer in progress or the second?!

my priority date is 25March2014.

The case was approved for transfer 23July2015 to Algeria from Cairo which is the time I got the email from NVC. All that time my case was shown as "ready" and still in Cairo.somehow they decided to send it today and that is when I saw the case changed from "ready"to "transfer in Progress".

so in your case, it has been months and your case still show Transfer in Progress....wow. I have no idea what to expect for my case. Aallah Kareem!

I also misunderstood that this was ur second time saying transfer in progress .... But yeah now I'm waiting for an interview date .. It's been over 2 months and it hasn't updated even once ?

it seems like they scheduling interviews for older cases than yours and mine and I would presume you would have the interview date before mine. It would be nice if they can schedule the interviews as they get the files even if the dates are months in advance.

My husband had his interview and was approved alhamduillah

They gave him a slip and tool his passport

Does anyone one know how long do they take until they

give the passport back

If he did the medical exam before the interview then within 2 days but if he did the medical exam on the day of his interview like my husband then within 1 week. So definitely within a week. Mabrook
