We received your request for the expeditious processing of this petition. However, due to staffing limitations the U.S. Embassy in Algiers can only expedite cases if there is a severe medical emergency. If you fall into that category, please provide documentation from the physician currently caring for the affected person that lists the diagnosis. We will then forward your request to the Embassy for their consideration.

I think you can either contact the US embassy in Algeria to request the transfer or contact NVC. I made the request via NVC. maybe it is better if you make the request via the embassy to avoid the middle man (NVC).

My case transfer request from Egypt to Algeria was approved on July 23rd. Until today I have not heard anything in regards to my case. when I check my status online, it still shows that my case is ready and that my files are still in Egypt. I wish if it says "transfer in progress" at least I know my case is moving. FYI, my files are electronic and do not have physical file so not sure what is the hold up. when I contacted NVC, they don't even know why Egypt is not doing anything about my case. They believe the issue is on the Egyptian side. I repeatedly contacted Egypt and Algeria US embassies and get no response. VERY UNHAPPY AND FRUSTRATED!

has any one got their cases approved for transfer late July or August or even September from Egypt to Algeria and saw status changes on ceac to "transfer in Progress" or to something else?

I requested for my case to be transferred on August 25th, August 27th it showed transfer in progress and sept 1 it showed ready with alg at the end of my case. Also, there was some kind of activity with my case because it showed that it was updated September(that's the day I got reply from Egypt and Algeria abt an email I sent while back) Egypt sent me an email saying that they will transfer my physical file next week and NVC is saying they have my physical file.
