Hi all,

I have a question regarding Police Record #2. I believe I heard somewhere in this forum that the Police Record #2 is only valid for 6 months and if it is expired before the interview, we need to obtain a new one. Can someone validate that this is indeed true. Thanks in advance guys...

So I had the police record issue on March and submitted to NVC on April. So it looks like I will need to have my wife obtain another one then ..

Cheers for the reminder my wife is getting another criminal check done since it expired in June. Just in case they request a new one - you saved me 2-3 weeks.

Has anyone heard any news yet? CR-1 takes so gd long :(

Also does anyone have a check list as an example or is it different for everyone...which means we can't even start organizing the documents even if we wanted to?

April CR-1 case complete with interview date, anyone?

May 7, 2014 - I-130 sent to Chicago, IL Lockbox

May 12, 2014 - Case recieved at Chicago, IL.

May 13, 2014 - Case accepted. Received LIN#. Case forwarded to USCIS, Nebraska. i-797 hard copy received shortly after.

I don't even know how they operate. It's stupid that they can't schedule, looking up why it's taking too long, or keep in check with the embassy overseas...

Embassy will say contact the NVC and NVC will say waiting on the Consulate/Embassy. Realistically I find there is not much you can do.
