Does anyone know how you go about obtaining a police certificate from Munich, Germany while residing in Bogota, Colombia? My Colombian fiance spent a year in Germany and needs one, and we want to start gathering the paperwork right away as we have a feeling (having dealt with the German foreign representation before) that this could take some doing.

Feb 21, 2007: Mailed I-129F via USPS Priority Mail.

Feb 24, 2007: I-129F arrived at VSC at 3:01 p.m.

Feb 27, 2007: NOA1

Feb 28, 2007: They cashed my check.

Mar 2, 2007: Touched! I'm guessing this was my check clearing :)

Mar 5, 2007: NOA1 arrived via snail mail.

Mar 15, 2007: NOA2!!!!!!

Mar 21, 2007: Petition sent to Bogota

May: We send Packet 3 by fax; fax never received.

June: We send packet 3 again; it's sent back because my fiance didn't write NONE and N/A.

July: We send packet 3 again . . .

July 23rd: We get an email from the embassy. Our interview is August 21st!!!

Go to the German Embassy... they can at the least put you into contact with the local PD or City Authorities that handle these requests.

Then again, she may have to go directly to the authorities in Germany. Good luck!

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Does she speak German? I couldn't find this link in english. This is the one where you can order the certificate

http://www.muenchen.de/Rathaus/kvr/buergbu...nis_antrag.html

and here is the paperwork for her to fill out http://www.muenchen.de/cms/prod2/mde/_de/r...eugn/antrag.pdf

Here's some tips to help her fill it out http://www.muenchen.de/Rathaus/kvr/buergbu...s_hinweise.html

and here's the address it needs to be sent to http://www.muenchen.de/Rathaus/kvr/buergbu...is_kontakt.html

You don't have to go through the city of Munich to get the certificate but can order directly from the central register. Cities don't keep their own registers and don't issue these certificates - all they do is order the certificate from the same central register.

Information can be found here:

hi....I too needed a police certificate from Germany - though i reside in UK, when i looked yo the german embassy weblink on th einterent ( german embassy in uk) if possible to get a certificate by downloding a form - filling it in and sending with it proof of payment for the certificate you will alos need to have the form you downloaded notarised - i contacted my bank to have them send 13 Euros - i alos had to send proof that the bank had made the transaction - and the notarised form...remember though that the certificate will come back in German so you will need it translated. Please check German embassy in Bogota as the process may differ a little - Good Luck
