From all my research it does not seem to matter.

:( For those of us who have real and true marriages I hope it crosses their (embassy) minds how utterly painful this process is and that lengthy AP processes only makes it harder. I'm all for protecting our country but really how long does it take to do a background check on someone?

Well I can't tell how long it is. Some people got there visa within a couple of days others took weeks and months up to one year. For me, it's been 96 days so far since the approval.

8 months in AP from the time of interview plus 2 weeks since turning in the requested documents ???. Finally started daughters passport so we can go to Cairo by the start of the year if my husband doesn't have visa; against my doctors wishes...

I am very sorry OmSama for all this delay. Do you think that there is a certain reason they are taking this long with your case although your I-130 got approved so quickly as I can tell from your timeline?!

:( You guys have been in AP far too long; it's just not fair. Not to mention your condition and having to make that long journey with your small child. Not fair.

Any news guys? the forum seems to be in coma. I have been waiting for 107 days so far!

Nothing here...but we're just getting started so-to-speak. Hoping to get an interview in January :( and then to hear so many people sitting in AP for months after that. It's just disheartening.

Stop blaming the Embassy. Stop emailing the Embassy. Leave your Congressman out of it.

Why? Because it's not the Embassy and your Congressman can't do anything - not one thing - to move your AP along.

Why?

Because AP is done at the local level, by locals. That's right! Local. Meaning, if the beneficiary's name is run through all of those databases and there's a match, further investigation is required. Any involvement with the legal system is investigated. If the beneficiary was a witness to a crime, it's investigated. That investigation requires a local (yes, an Egyptian!) to find the motivation to get up out of that comfy chair, dig through that dusty stack of files, and give the Embassy the information they're asking for. It's particularly challenging in cases where bright lights got the good idea to burn court houses and police stations where paper records are stored.

All you can do is wait.

OmSama, can you ask for an expedite? Do you know?

Hello, I hope your transplant was a success. What has happened with your case? Have you and your husband been reunited? If so what did you do and how long did it take? Hope you are well and happy.
