For the record, Thai Pham never contacted me and was given wrong information!!! HAHAHAHA

Just kidding Thai Pham... where are you in Philly? I'm in Philly!

What people in Philly recommended you to hire a lawyer? Not me for sure!!!

I would try to fill out the form as much as I could, if i'm stuck, VJ is always there for me to ask my question. For the most part, look at the Example Forms, that should give you some idea how and what to fill in the blanks.

Thanks,

chuck and kim

So the verdict is that my fiancee will be using a service from Vietnam to help her with Packe 3 & 4. After I found out alittle more information I think that it is best since it significantly decrease my SO's anxiety.

Here's the deal, the total cost is $400 but they demand $200 dollars at first which they will use to pay for your medical exam, visa fee and some other fees associated with the K1 visa. They review all the paper work submitted to make sure nothing is missing and in the proper order prior for the interveiw. They gather the police records, singles certificate etc. They then will prep my SO, explaining to her what to expect during the interview, (Ex. she will go to the front, drop of her documents, wait along time and them be interviewed).

They don't collect the remaining $200 (there service fee) until you obtain your visa, so they will help you gather any additional documents etc. that you will need.

Sounds ligit since they don't get paid until my fiancee gets a visa. I'll let you all know how it all works out....packet 3 was dropped off at HCMC 2 weeks ago.

That's a $200 USD you'll never see again!

Coaching? Have these coaches been through the interview themselves? If they did, obviously they failed that's why the are still here in Vietnam. Listen to your brothers and sisters here on VJ who actually went through the interview and pass! Seem to me your fiance tries to run the show here, where you are the petitioner for her Visa. You would rather coaching her yourself, given the vast and up to date information you may find on VJ than having some "service" in VN telling your wife what to say and what to do. Note, what I say here come with a huge assumption toward you and your wife here. I don't know your background.

Another scenario where I see the service would be great: your wife is NOT living in Saigon, your wife can't read/write/understand English too well, you do not have time to work on the case with her, she doesn't have the time to fill and apply forms in VN also.

Which one is it?

Either way, good luck. If you need evidence where the Service would screw up your file by leaving vital and important document off your Package in preparation of the interview. Ask someone named mike72e on this board, he'll tell you a real story that happened to him. He did use the service!

That scenario fits me well. I wanted to clarify, they don't coach her on what to say or do, they only provide her information on how to get everything together and they make sure all the little details, such as translations, etc. are taking care of.

Of course I will see the first $200, because that is the fee for the medical, Visa etc. The $200 that I won't see again will by the final payment when my fiancee gets her visa.

I wasn't recommending that everyone use a service, but in my case, it will definitely help.

My fiancee and her family are from the countryside (Dong Nai), so they are not familiar with the paperwork and dealing with the Consulate is very intimidating for them.

Sometimes you have hard decisions to make. If I said NO to the service and that I can do it for them, if something goes wrong then the burden falls on me. If the service screws up, well, I guess I can say I told you so.

P.S. I am sending the I-134 and the proof of bonafide relationship so I have some control of what is going on.
