They mainly asked about my job and her job. How much money we each make. The name of the company. Our position at the company, etc. They also asked what I thought about Vietnamese women. We knew immediately if we passed. They supplied the interpreter for free. It all depends on what provence you go to. What provence is your fiancee from?

Her hometown is more important than were she currently lives. We live in Phu Nhuan District HCMC, but because here hometown is in Long An province we had to go there for everything. It still may be possible to do everything in HCMC even if she is from another province, but I cannot confirm that.

is she register to live in HCM? if so, then you can register for marriage in HCM. Submit the paperwork a month ahead of time before you come back to vn for the interview.

If you are in a hurry to get things done, make sure you schedule an appointment with the US embassy first to get you single certificate. Sometimes the wait can be two weeks. This was by far the slowest part of the process. Also get your girlfriend to get her single certificate before you arrive.
