DS forms

I noticed that some of the DS forms (156K, 157) for the interview are expired. I e-mailed the consulate because I got them from their website and I want to know if they're too old and I need newer ones.

However, while I wait I figured I'd ask if anyone else had this problem.

If so, and it doesn't matter, then can work on them/complete them this weekend so I don't have to wait for a response.

Anyone go through this?

The DS forms we got from Abu Dhabi Embassy were also expired, and I would highly recommend simply using the forms available online below:

DS-230, 156, 156K and 157 are all available online at(forms we were required to produce, you may be asked for others which likely are found here as well):

And using the online DS-156 produces a scannable document by automatically creating a bar code when printing, so there will be no errors having some consulate worker put your data into the computer system. It is simply scanned into the system!

I have read that the embassies and consulates will always accept the expired forms they provide, but why not use up to date forms and have the peace of mind of having neatly typed out documents, and of course the scannable DS-156 mentioned above?
