I make a pretty good pizza....

but the best pizza I have had that I didn't make was at this little pizza place in Walnut, CA called the New York Pizzeria... ... the pizza is soo good, the crust is cooked perfectly and just enough sauce and cheese...

this very much depends on the type of pizza -- there is a place in LA called Vic Jrs that makes me salivate just thinking about it. It is your bog-standard American-style pizza. I also have dreams about this place that does Chicago Deep Dish at this place on Milwaukee Ave.

Also, I had a pizza at this little cafe in Rome that makes me think I would drop a grand and get on a plane just to go eat some.

I have never had amazing pizza in NYC I have to say, in spite of the pizza chauvinism of the locals.

The best ever was probably at Guido's in San Jose, CA. Used to go there all the time before they moved location and the pizza suffered. Nowaday's I don't know where to go around here for good pizza, but I do like that afore-mentioned Costco pizza, with pepperoni.

There was a restaurant near my house in Genova, Italy called Halloween. We used to go there about once a week, and though it's hard to pick a favorite pizza, theirs was pretty damn good. I used to get the kind with prosciutto crudo and an egg in the center, and then pour the peperoncino oil over the top.

I want a Halloween pizza NOW!!!! :crying:

There was this place in East Lansing, MI called Bilbos that was all Lord of the Ring themed (way before the popularity of the films) and had sandwiches called "Come Yonder Tom Bombadil" and "Gandalf's Revenge" . Anyways, they had pizza that was AMAZING. They also had breadsticks called hobbit sticks - sometimes I weep for want of a hobbit stick. The place is sadly no more.
