Guys, I need your input on something. My mother has petitioned my older brother but her income is insufficient for the affidavit of support so she needs to use a joint sponsor. Another older brother of mine is a US citizen and is willing to be the joint sponsor but we are unsure whether he should sign Form I-864 or Form I-864A. He and my mother lives in the same household.

Both sponsors need to fill out the formS. Your mom who is the sponsor flls out form I-864 while your brother is the joint sponsor and fills out Form I-864A. We did this very recently, I was the sponsor and my husband was the joint sponsor.

I know my mother (the main sponsor) has to fill out I-864 but i was under the impression that my brother would only fill out I-864A if he and my mother file taxes together, which is not the case because they file separately even though they live in the same house

I think in your case, the sponsor would fill out both the I-184 as well as the I-184A and the joint sponsor fills out the I-184 only.

The  SPONSOR may include income from a household member by filing Form I-864A if the sponsor alone is unable to provide full financial support to the principal immigrant. 

The joint sponsor is someone who accepts legal responsibility for supporting the immigrant when the petitioning sponsor does not meet the income requirements.

she need to fill only the i864 since the live together they can combine the income.

Last time someone updated our Tracking List, it lost its alignment and it got all messed up!  I guess that’s why people stopped updating it afterwards.

I have taken the last version, that was still in good shape … so that we start updating it with the Interview dates … I think it will be very informative, now that we are on the final stages of the process.

What do you think this means exactly? That dates will be close to current?

It means that the VB, category for F2A will move a month till June. It is a prediction based on demand.
