Hey guys,
Quick update. I was checking the CEAC Website yesterday and noticed the status changed to In Transit. I called NVC and asked if my case had been forwarded to the Embassy and the guy told me it had actually been sent yesterday. I had read some other threads on how to Track your case from NVC to Embassy and found an old 2009 thread with some old instructions. I was wondering if anyone on this thread had tried it.
I tried it, but I think because my package had just left yesterday there is nothing to be tracked yet. Like maybe it's not on DHL's system yet.
What I read on the other thread on How To Track Your Case from NVC To Embassy was more or less this (I updated the instructions a bit):
1- When you know from NVC that your case was forwarded to your embassy (mm/dd/yyyy), lets take my example case forwarded to Venezuelan embassy on May 25th 2016
3- Then under Shipper´s Reference put the reference number in this format EXP 24 MAY 2016A
4- Select a date range... here you should note that in my example the case was supposedly sent yesterday, but I am entering the 24th as the date because they schedule the shipping day before so that DHL knows in advance when they will ship it. So, the day before the date they gave you over the phone will be your exact day for NVC shipping your case to your embassy. Therefore, I selected the 24th as date on the Date range for shipment - From field, and todays date in the Date range for shipment - To field.
5 - Select your country under the location drop down menu. I selected Venezuela
6- Click the Track>> Button.
Of course, if you input my info it shows nothing, I guess because it just happened yesterday. Maybe I will check again later to see.
Has anyone else used this? Did it work? where you able to track your package?
Just curious.

You are in the US and you are the beneficiary!!! Then you can let NVC know that you'll be doing adjustment of status with USCIS. You'll have to check USCIS visa bulletin if you can file for AOS now coz sometime USCIS doesn't exactly follow the DOS's visa bulletin. If you file for AOS, you don't need any police certificate. You don't have to travel to Nepal for visa interview this way.

Hi arken. Thanks for replying.

Yes I am the beneficiary. My wife is LPR. My PD is Oct 7, 2015. My PD is not current yet. I was unaware that visa bulletin of USCIS and DOS could be different.

Since I am planning to mail my Affidavit of Support and IV package next week, I will just let the NVC know that I'll be doing AOS with USCIS.

Yes, in some months USCIS does not follow the new filing date table and just uses final action dates table of the visa bulletin. If you plan to go for AOS with USCIS , you do not need to pay any fees and/or submit any documents to NVC.

So if I plan to do AOS with USCIS, I need not send any documents or pay any fee to NVC?

This means I just need to wait for my PD to become current and once it becomes current I apply for AOS?

Should I notify NVC about this?

Thanks a bunch arken.

NVC is solely for consular processing. For AOS, everything has to be paid and submitted to USCIS. You can look at USCIS visa bulletin at https://www.uscis.gov/visabulletininfo to see if USCIS is using the new filing dates for AOS for upcoming months so that you don't have to wait for your PD to become current to file for AOS.

It's better to let NVC know.

Thanks for the info arken.

While filing I 130 I did indicate that I will be filing AOS ( it was item 22 of I 130, Where I filled city and state here in US In the two blanks on left side).

I was not sure and started processing because NVC sent me WCL along with checklists.

I'll wait for now and let NVC know about it.
