Just to update. NVC Scan Date 2/16/2016.

Just received the email this morning.

@carot12 - scan date is when NVC acknowledges your AOS and IV package. They send an email saying they receive the documents and will require them so much days to review.

  • 3/24/15 - sent I-130 package via FedEx priority
  • 4/04/15 - NOA1 received
  • 5/07/15 - NOA2 received **Priority date 3/25/15**
  • 6/09/15 - NVC email with case & invoice # (no further processing until case is current)
  • 1/20/16 - NVC welcome letter rcvd , along with AOS invoice
  • 1/21/16 - Agent of choice sent
  • 2/02/16 - IV Fee invoice rcvd
  • 2/05/16 - Paid AOS & IV Fees
  • 2/10/16 - DS-260 completed and submitted
  • 2/10/16 - AOS & Civil supporting docs sent to NVC via FedEx
  • 2/12/16 - docs arrived to NVC
  • 2/17/16 - NVC Scan Date (letter via email stating all docs rcvd on 2/12 , will take 30 days to review docs.)

Hello friends,

I just got approved by I-130 this week.I have some questions for next steps.I really appreciate it if you could give me any advice.

I am working a startup company in US through F1 OPT. My wife is green card holder.

How could I do adjust of status by Visa charm B when my PD is earlier than the cut off date？

What documents do I need to file? Could I get a new EAD card when adjust of status?

You can call NVC, but I just waited for the email which arrived 3 days after USPS delivery. It was delivered as per USPS Feb 16 and we received the email Feb 19 indicating it was received on the 16th.

just completed ds261.When can i pay the fees?

Good to hear that your case opens.

After my hubby had filled ds 261, he called to nvc, they will validate it over the phone, then the aos fee will be invoiced. Then,after 2-3 business days, the status will be changed from "in process" to "paid". After that, you should log in every day to see the iv fee is invoiced or not? If invoiced, you can pay. In the mean while, you should collect your docs and do affividavit support form. Good luck.

Updated from my end, i have completed all process, waiting for scan day and completion. Hope no check list.

I (permanent resident) filed for my spouse in Albania and have a priority date of July 29, 2015. We received an approval on Sept 30, 2015 from USCIS and it stated that it was moved to NVC. In Nov. 14, 2015 NVC send a letter stating they had everything they needed for the time being. Since then i have not received any correspondence from them. I contacted NVC and via phone they provided me with with the case number and invoice number. What now?

It seems like a long time with not hearing from them. Waiting is horrible! :help::clock:

anyone else in the same boat? :mellow:

Yes unfortunately it is a long wait. Once NVC has your file it can take 6-12 months for them to contact you (depending on the current VB more or less, for us it was around 8 months). You have case number and invoice number so all is good. Patience is the game here...
