Wow! I think we are Seniors in this frustrating wait...going on 18 months and still counting. I wonder if there is someone in Vj who has waited this long with no interview or a green card mailed.

I filled for my Father on 01/14/2015

On 04/20/2014 we received the NPIW

I called and filled a request with the CongressWoman's Office in my area on 11/06/2015

I filled a request with Ombudsman 11/20/2015

On 12/10/1015 I-130 was approved

I called USCIS on 12/12/15 and I talked to Tier 2 Officer and he told me that they're working on my father's I-485

Today I received this from CongressWoman Office

"January 5, 2016

Dear XXXXXXXXXXXXXX,

I am forwarding you the information sent to our office from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) dated December 11, 2015 on behalf of your father XXXXXXXXXXX. The response is as follows:

“Thank you for your inquiry of November 6, 2015, o behalf of your constituent, Mr. XXXXXXXXXXXX, regarding the pending Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records indicate that Mr. XXXXXXX’s case is pending background check clearance. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely manner while also ensuring public safety and national security. A small percentage of applications and petitions have unresolved background check issues that temporarily delay adjudication. Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check will be completed.

If a background check reveals an issue that may impact an applicant’s eligibility for the requested immigration benefit, further inquiry is needed. The inquiry may include an additional interview and/or contact with another agency for updates or more comprehensive information. Upon gathering and assessing all available information, USCIS will adjudicate the application as quickly as possible. We hope this information is helpful. May I ask what is online status for your father's case on the USCIS website? I filed for my mom and its been more than 9 months of waiting and no word about interview or green card. Even though our local office had processing delays, I still wonder if I should check with the USCIS and representative.

Thank you for your response. Our status stating that an interview should be scheduled and we never received a waiver. I guess our case is different than your father's.

I am glad you have got an approval within relatively good time for the Waiver cases.

Hello everyone, I have a question, please help me.???

I just got an interview appointment and they asked me to bring " a completed medical examinatio I693 and vaccine supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submmitted)"

I did submit the medical and vaccine supplement which I got from my country. However, it is expired on Nov, 2015.

So now, Do I have to go to doctor for a new I693 form?

I only have 2 weeks to the interview day. Im worried I dont have enough time for new medical examination.

If anyone has the same experience, please help me.

yes you do need a new one, and just look up for a doctor near by who's certified by USCIS and you'll have the results envelope in less than a week
