Just an update to say I just got a push notification on my phone just now (I have the "Case Tracker" app) saying that my case was approved!

I am adjusting from K1, filed back in May, got NPIW September 14, a RFE for a new medical October 20 (my medical would only expire at the end of January and it was complete with all vaccines etc and everything in English), mailed back the RFE with new medical packet on November 5th.

Does that mean I am approved? It sounds stupid but after everything it seems a little too good to be true LOL Here is the notice...

On November 13, 2015, we approved your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXX. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice.

Fingerprint Fee was accepted on June 29, new card was ordered on Nov. 7, mailed on the 12th, received on the 16th. So, a little over a week for me.

Did you received a confirmation from uscis once you mailed your rfe back ? I got my rfe October 21st and mailed back last week on Tuesday and have not heard anything from them :(

Did you received a confirmation from uscis once you mailed your rfe back ? I got my rfe October 21st and mailed back last week on Tuesday and have not heard anything from them :(

NOPE no response, no change of status no nothing. But I had to send it directly to someone over at USCIS as the letter directed so maybe that is a sign they will get on top of it. I read that your post office receipt with a tracking number is enough to "challenge" them if it comes to it.

We received reply to our SR today, the letter states that our case is on processing hold because there are still pending security checks. After 16 months of filing I would think this would have been cleared. I have not seen in VJ a case with a processing hold because of security checks. Has anyone else received this type of hold on their case?

So tonight I return from a trip and find two letters from USCIS in the mailbox. One is good, it states they will be able to use my previous fingerprints for my EAD/AP renewal (It lists EAD only, but I'm guessing AP too?) and the other letter is CONTINUANCE - basically I responded to a RFE in January when they asked for a translation of my international birth certificate. My (last name) BC contains letters such as š, ć and I guess when the translation was printed, those letters weren't printed correctly or I don't know what happened so they say that I said my last name had only 2 letters instead of 5 and now they are asking me to confirm my last name. How can I print the š and ć letters from my last name as s and c it if then won't match my BC? I'm confused. Also, it says the letter is to be returned to DHS Sacramento, don't know why.

But I guess this is good news, at least someone touched my case even though there are no changes on my online case status. It's probably because my congressman got involved :)

I have a very vague recollection of once reading on here about cases going into background/security checks at a time when it wasn't expected... maybe it was for AOS? I don't recall...

I would start a new thread on this, see what others have to say. Wishing I had better things to say. :(

02/14/2014 - Case shipped to Embassy, where it waited for over a year at my request                                 11/07/2015 - AOS approved (EAD and AP had already been approved) - there was no interview

05/21/2015 - Interview - Approved

10/12/2017 - ROC packet mailed to VSC

01/21/2019 - ROC Approved - there was no interview

 

The N-400 journey:

02/16/2020 - N-400 application filed online

02/21/2020 - Paper NOA received in the mail

03/13/2020 - Biometrics

02/02/2021 - Interview & test - Approved

02/05/2021 - Oath Ceremony

Hey guys, congrats on your approvals!

I have a good news too, who remember my story, my son got approved on October and was no changes for my case, so I made a service request named "file separation" at the beginning of this month, and today I got a reply that my case was approved together with my son at the same day October 17th, they just forgot to update me in the system, and right after that I got a notice from my case status," Card being produced"! So happy, finally!

Now, just wondering which date will ba shown on my card Oct or today's date:))

ROC -"CSC"
