would it be okay to ask for the contact information (i.e. phone #, email) of the adjudicating officer so the beneficiary/petitioner can follow up?

Has anyone successfully obtain this information before? If my memory serves me right, I've read of someone who mentioned getting the AOs contact info so she was able to follow up on her case after several months of waiting. Was it just my imagination or can you really do this?

12/04/06 (Monday)- Packet delivered to CHI/Receipt date in NOA1 (Day 1)

12/08/06 - Checks cashed (Day 4)

02/26/07 - EAD approved as per email from CRIS (Day 85)--- Yay!!!

02/28/07 - EAD card ordered (Day 87)

03/02/07 - Received EAD

03/08/07 - Interview Day (Day 95)-- Approved! Whoohoo! Thank you Lord!!

03/09/07 - Email notice: "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident"

03/13/07 - Email notice: "Card production ordered"

03/19/07 - Permanent Resident Card and "Welcome to America" notice received!!! Yahoo!!!

Our AO provided us with contact info without asking.

I would definately request it. I've heard of one other person on VJ being given contact info voluntarily.

Who gives this information? Is it at the AOS interview?

I remember when my husband went for an infopass for his EAD the lady said she couldn't help us in any way nor could she contact the officer in charge of the case. I swear the same idiot has been getting our cases in 2005 and 2006.

I-485 , I-765, I-130: NOA1 : 1/23/2006

Biometrics 2/23/2006

Temporary EAD given for 1 month ONLY b/c of Infopass appt: 5/1/2006

Went back to renew EAD through Infopass: EAD card was not given "due to reasons we can't disclose"

5/3/2007: Confirmation that EAD is delayed due to background checks. (started to use the senator, ombudsman and was just a royal pain in the neck)

5/30/2007: EAD production ordered (after over 400 days of waiting!!! woo hoo!)

AOS Interview: 5/12/2008!!! FINALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7/29/2008: card production ordered...918 days..can't wait to see that card!

Our adjudicating officer (AO) gave us the info. It's my opinion he gave it to us to save us Infopass appointments.

I have been told it's not unusual for District Offices to give phone numbers and email addresses, although the practice does not seem common on VJ.

Hi,

we asked the officer after our interview for phone number and he didnt give it to us. He told us to wait and if we want to contact them book the INFO PASS appointment. He also told us to wait at least 90 days before asking about our case. So I guess it depends who you talk to, every person is different....
