Last night my USCIS app informed be that my EAD have been mailed out

Are people going to do their state driving licence when they get their EAD?

I'm with GEICO and they said I have to get a state licence if my insurance was to continue (they insured me for the time being on my uk licence with a note that I get a state licence as soon as EAD obtained)

Technically yes. I already have one that expires next year (got it on my student visa). I want to change to my married name. Want an ID with my married name so I don't have to bring my passport.

Good point, my passport, even with a passport cover, is already starting to shows signs it's had enough of being carried around everywhere.

Good news is that it should happen any day now. I got my approved EAD on the 63rd or 64th day so hang in there, it's on its way!

Did it update on USCIS case status? or did you receive an email/text? I've heard some never received an update.. they just received the notice by mail.

Only email/text I have ever received was for my case numbers, it's been quiet since then. I use an app that checks the status of my three cases for me so that I don't have to go into the USCIS website everyday. So yeah, I only get case updates from their website, no email or text.

Good morning! It's funny how I got e mail that my card is being produced and at 10 pm that my case is approved. How long does it take to mail it and how long EAD is valid for?

Now new stress, finding a job and trying to evaluate my degree.?

Congratulations! And good luck at the SSA office tomorrow. Have you requested an appointment with them or just dropping in? I can recommend requesting an appointment if it's available where you live because otherwise you can be stuck waiting for quite some time.

Yeah I'm worried about vacation time as well as future maternity leave (or lack thereof). It's gotten to the point where I've told my husband that I seriously consider being a stay-at-home mom for pretty much as long as the maternity leave would have been if we had lived in Sweden.

I know. I have been fretting about this for a few months now. I know that getting a full time job will be the best thing to do, but I also know we both want to start trying for a baby before I hit 30. I'd feel bad to take on a job knowing my future plans. On the other hand starting a business is no easy feat either, but I have experience with it because I've been a freelancer (among full time jobs throughout my 20's) since I was 16. Some of the design companies or individuals in this area are poor at best, so I think I've got a real shot at something great here, I just need to get it off the ground.

Yup, I'm 31 and in the same position. I was looking at my own company but with indemnity insurance and getting a company set-up looks such a pain, so you definitely have more guts than me!

We probably wouldn't go for indemnity insurance, as I wouldn't need that kind of coverage. Open enrolment starts next week and we'd probably just look into a plan that's actually affordable! I have experience in my own business already, it's just going to be tough starting from scratch in a new country when I don't know what the waters are like. But, the way I see it is that it's best to do something like this now, when you have the opportunity to, than wish you'd done it looking back. In the meantime though I think I'll apply to jobs anyway, might be that I won't even get an interview!

I got my EAD three days after they said they'd mailed it. The EAD is valid for a year.

Thanks alot...I will call now and request for an appointment.

Please do that if you can, I had such an awful experience waiting for 2 and a half hours on Monday!

I'm working a 17 hour shift today, and after checking my email my I-130 form is APPROVED!!! My co worker will not work my nerve today, this great news will help me finish my shift????

Hello! It's a bit funny, was typing my post here that I haven't receive any updates until my app notified me that my case is 'Ready to be scheduled for an Interview' , I'm glad atleast I know now that my case is moving...But still no changes on my EAD/AP status(Case Was Received). Hope it will update soon also! Now 71 days from case received...
