Yeah, I've worked since I was 16 full time, part time and freelance. It feels weird that at the age of 28 I've been unemployed for so long, makes me feel anxious to get back to it!

Don't get me wrong, I love America and living here, I'm just a real family person and I miss them a lot. I have nephews and my sister is pregnant with her second baby and I just feel sad that I'm missing out on being involved as I was there for her throughout her first pregnancy. We're also not in the best living situation right now, so does make me pine for my job and house back home! The feelings will pass, I just can't wait to get the AP/Green Card and be able to visit. Bedford is pretty close to Oxford, you can jump on the X5 and be there in a couple of hours. Bedford is close to Cambridge and it's lovely there, but as I was born in Oxford we have a rivalry with those from Cambridge. Haha!

Fingers crossed we all see our cases progressing faster now. And that the weather changes a little!

Big Hugs to you! I know missing out on all the family things back home must be hard, hopefully you will be able to get back home soon for a visit. We are very eagerly awaiting the EAD, so each day that goes by feels like forever! I am so sorry that the living situation hasn't been the best, I really hope that all falls in place for you all once you can get back to working. So far we have been lucky, but if an EAD doesn't come soon, money could be a little tight around Christmas, so just a tad worried about that.

Ooh I can't wait to finally see England one day, haven't been able to get there as my health had been poor, then late last year got some positive news that we thought would finally allow me to go over there. Our original plan was for us to settle over there as that's where his job was and he was making good money, but during a routine check up at my latest appointment, we got some bad news about my health, and well all our plans went straight out the window. I'm just glad I had him here at that moment as I can't imagine having had to do any of this alone.

I'm thinking we may see something in the first two weeks of October, or maybe that's just wishful thinking!

Sent in our response to our RFE yesterday so hopefully our case can continue to move forward.

So sorry to hear about the passing of your father. My deepest condolences to you and all his loved ones. I lost my mother to a very short and unexpected battle with cancer in December of 2013.

Glad you got your RFE sent in, hopefully they process it fast and not delay anything. I have heard such mixed information on RFE's, so I'm not really sure what to expect with my husband's EAD.

All the best everyone..US is an awesome country..i like it..

Thanks! So glad you are enjoying the US, it truly is a wonderful country! Good luck to you :)

Just got a case update that they have received our RFE. I really really hope that they're happy with what we sent them.

Fingers crossed they get everything they needed from your RFE submission and you'll be underway!

Well, it seems as though you'll need to provide substantial proof as to why you need your work authorisation sooner than they can give it to you. I'm not sure exactly what that might entail, so it might be a question for the forum at large rather than just this thread. I assume your USC spouse is not working or not able to work? If it were something medical that prevented being able to work then a doctors letter would be appropriate, but you'd also need to prove that you've got a job offer.

I agree with 3rd that this is probably something you should start your on thread about.

But yes, you need to prove that you have a job offer and that either that company will lose money on not hiring you or that your USC spouse is unable to work.

Done with my biometrics, and it was fast! :joy:

Yay! Now comes the wait for the card! Knowing it's only round the corner is making me nervous for looking for design jobs once more.

Hi all,

Has anybody here had a successful biometrics appointment walk-in in New York? If so, I'm curious to know what your experience was, as I am hoping to do just that when I receive my appointment letter.
