Hi All - hadn't posted in here so thought I join the August filers! Just had my biometrics, really easy in and out in under 10 minutes, the lady was really pleasant too. Got an RFE for my AOS last week :( They wanted the 1040A for 2014, the W2's weren't enough - I seemed to have missed that in all the instructions. But an easy fix at least. Now hoping EAD and AP come soon! Hope ya'll progressing too!

So I had my Biometrics appointment today. We got there about a half hour earlier than 11am and were let straight in. The guard was lovely and made a joke about our local high school football team kicking his kids arses. I apologised jovially, and filled out a very quick form and was called back up pretty much straight away. Then waited for about a minute and called up to a super friendly lady who took my fingerprints. She noted I just had a birthday on the 6th and hers was the 2nd, so we both wished each other a belated happy birthday and then she took my photo. She was so kind in making sure I liked it before I left. I only took it twice as I knew it couldn't get much better! I wish they could do what we do in the UK and supply our own, but the system is the system I guess... Either way, we were in and out in about 5 minutes in all. Can't recommend the Oakland Application Service Centre enough!

She told me I'd receive my work authorisation card in about 3 weeks. I can't wait to go and get my SSN, drivers license and start applying for jobs. Not being able to work has been the toughest part of this whole process.

Now just to wait for any RFE's (fingers crossed there are none) and then the interview letter!

Did your online update change after your biometrics.

Welcome fellow August Filer! Things seem to be pretty speedy for you so hopefully that RFE hasn't held you too far back. We're all holding out hope the EAD/AP cards come sooner rather than later. Being told by the lady at Biometrics that it should be with me in 3 weeks has me hoping I'll be on a job hunt before October is through.

judefabulous, I checked yesterday evening and have just checked again now (just in case I was jumping the gun) and it still says my last update for August 24th. Seems to me that whoever is going through my files isn't updating any of my online records. Such a shame that this system isn't nearly entirely online in the first place...

Thank you 3rd!

Had the most ridiculous experience coming home after my family emergency. I had my Emergency AP and first they had issues in Sweden trying to figure out how to check me into the flight as they had different options in their computer system to check me in under but the form you get from USCIS is not one of them. I think they finally ended up just lying and saying I was checked in with a work visa.

Then I came to Dulles airport and first guy said "you're fine but you need to go through additional screening" so I went to secondary. Where I waited for 1 1/2 hours just to get pretty much the same questions as during 1st inspection... If secondary had been empty I would probably only been in and out but they seemed pretty busy last night.

I'm sorry to hear that Maria. At least you're back on US soil after all the hoops you had to jump through. I'm also really sorry to hear of your father passing and sending all my condolences your way.

Hello all, I have a question....

Shortly after we married I was laid off from my job, June, so we have a sponsor. Well when we sent off the AOS, I did not fill out an Affidavit of Support, not realizing I had to, we just got the RFE for mine, which is fine, but do I need to send off any pay check stubs or W2 tax info with it, or just simply fill out the form and send it off?

Thank you call in advance, dont know what we'd do without this site!! :)

Yes, you need to send all your W2 or 1099 send the paycheck so of at least last 6 months (just in case) and transcript of 2012,2013 and 2014 but you can Alston send the copy of your 1040 but I heard transcripts are better. Send as much as you can so you don't get another RFE. If anyone have more information than me feel free to chip in to help.

Good luck

Thank you for this, I figured as much.... taxes are not a problem, my problem now is I cannot find my last couple of paycheck stubs... and seeing as how that was back in June there is no telling. The company has been closed out and my old boss is moving to Texas from Georgia.

I'm sure the check photos are in my bank as I did self depositing.... could that pass for the information needed?

I save everything I have no idea how Ive managed to lose the stubs..... :(

You have two options here. You can either send off a tax transcript from the current year with 6 months worth of pay stubs, OR you can send off the entire 1040 from the most recent tax year with the W2 from that year and the 6 months worth of pay stubs. You'll also need to supply a letter of continued employment on letterhead paper from the company in question to prove that the salary is ongoing and permanent. If they work more than one job, then you'll need to supply all the appropriate paperwork for each job (W2's, pay stubs and letters of employment). If you need help on the letter let me know because we have a co-sponsor and got her employer to fill the letter out in a specific way.

We couldn't get hold of her tax transcripts in time to send the package off so we just photocopied every page of the 1040. Some people say tax transcripts are better, but they accept both and I've never heard of anyone getting an RFE for supplying the 1040 instead of the transcript.

Also, as you've been laid off I'd imagine you'll need to supply a new I-864 reflecting this with a letter explaining that you're now unemployed. Plus any of the tax documents you originally sent, just to be sure and keep everything organised.

Good luck!

Yes the picture of the checks from your bank acc. will help, that's what I send because my hubby don't get pay stubs and he have a 1099 so that will help you as proof.
