so confused....

do people that came over on the k-1 visa need another 1-693 or not?? We had it done back in Oct 13, 07. Our interview is on Oct 22, 08...more than a year ago....will this suffice? Lets just say after paying almost $4 a gallon for gas, I am not too eager about shelling out another $400 if I don't have to.

And what happens if the POE officials took the original medical exam

The one year clock is from date of medical exam to date of I-485 application. If you are less than one year then you are good to go, as they will pull the exam from the permanent immigration file to use.

Your only addeed requirement then is the vaccinations.

ok,

when we went for the K-1 we got both the medical exam and vaccinations. I don't remember if it was form I-693 though. However she did receive a medical packet and an chest xray. The CBP agent at the Port of Entry took the medical packet and left us with the xrays.

Here is the concern. I called up USCIS and asked about the form i-693 and they said that I still needed it. I would have taken their word for it if it had not been a scripted reply. She couldn't tell me yes or no if the form was needed. She just kept on ranting some script.

I don't want to get redflagged becuz the government decided to put unclear information on their website.

My Timeline:

2/27/2007 sent I-129f

5/??/2007 USCIS needed additional info

7/23/2007 I-129f approved

8/3/2007 NVC approves application

8/27/2007 NVC sends approval notice to Seoul embassy

9/6/2007 Seoul embassy finally receives application/filed for interview

9/21/2007 worried about interview

10/13/2007 K-1 approved.

10/20/2007 Arrived in Ameriva

10/29/2007 Filed for marriage certificate

11/24/2007 Filed for AOS I-485 and AP

12/18/2007 Received RFE (overpaid, had to resend check)

1/24/2008 USCIS resumed application process/biometrics appt received

2/04/2008 Biometrics appt

4/??/2008 AP approved and received

9/??/2008 AOS interview schedule received

10/22/2008 AOS interview

11/3/2008 RFE received and returned

The foreign medical is the DS-2053 and the vaccinations is the DS-3025, so it would not be the I-693 as that is the USCIS form.

Read the instructions to the I-485... your answer is there.....

You are not the first to do this and there are thousands on VJ who have gone before you....

YMMV

thanks

if you hadn't already guessed, I have read over the instructions about a dozen times. It doesn't really help, especially when someone from USCIS gives conflicting answers.

I just wanted some assurance or actually experiences from other people.

Emancipation,

Not strange at all. Look carefully at the form at the link you reference and tell us what form # you see on the form?

I-693A is a 'form #' created by people's imagination (as is 'NOA1), it is not the vaccination supplement's form number.

Yodrak

Not true about the form.. We found it.. You have to search suppliment not the form #.. strange we know.. but that's the deal

http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/ti-03/appdx-a_693vacc.pdf

I brought this from the search, I think it's good thread to my issue, and I am sure many others, also I am quoting Yodrak to tell him/her that if you looked at the bottom of the form you will see A-1, so my guess is that people are calling this form I-693A referancing the letter "A" at the bottom of the page
