I've been looking at this site for months now, but never introduced myself. My name is Karoline and my fiance is Paul. We met 11 years ago (yeah i know, a long time!!!) when I was 15 years old. We possibly met before that when we were younger, but neither of us remember. I do remember his sister though. My dad is German, and I spent many summers in the town in Germany where my grandparents live. Paul also lived there. I guess I first fell in love with him when I was 16 if you can really call that love. We definitely always had a connection. We kept in touch over the years, and what was always amazing to me was that no matter how much time went by in between the times we talked or saw each other, things just seemed to fall right back into place as if no time at all had passed. In 2005, we decided that it was time that we make this happen. We both loved each other, and decided that we were going to do the long distance thing and see each other as often as possible. We saw each other 3 times a year (not nearly enough, but we made it work). I was going to move to Germany last May, which I guess would have been less complicated since I have dual citizenship. However, I was very worried about finding a job as good as what I have here, because I've heard stories from lots of family and friends in Germany about the difficulties in finding a good job. So, we decided that he would come here. He visited for 3 months in October 2006 to Jan 2007 and we made our petition for the visa. We got our NOA2, yesterday, woohoo! And like everybody we're just ready for the waiting to be over. Of course, technically, I've been waiting for that man for 11 years, so what is a few more months, right? Haha :P

05.04.07: Interview-- Visa Approved!!!!

05.09.07: Visa Received!!!!

05.14.07: Paul is home!!!!

06.08.07: Wedding!!!! We're married, we're married! Woohoo!

06.21.07: Sent AOS, AP, and EAD applications to USCIS

06.23.07: AOS package received in Chicago

06.28.07: NOA for AOS, AP, and EAD

07.10.07: Received notice for biometrics appointment

08.02.07: Biometrics Appointment

09.20.07: AOS interview

11.15.07: Green Card received

11.05.09: Removal of Conditions package sent to VSC

11.09.09: Package received at VSC

11.12.09: Check cashed

Thanks :D We met in Bad Kissingen north of Schweinfurt (where my grandparents and his sister still live to this day). He currently lives in Regensburg, which is where we've spent a lot of our time together in the last few years.

Are you from Germany as well?
