Oh my husband just got NOA2 from them today 2/13... And both of the petition were approved. I wonder which one they will do I-130 or I-129 ??? Now they are sending my case to NVC.

Actually my noa2 was 2/5.. Now they approved both I-130 and I-129 so which one will they normally do for me? And they said I should wait at least 30days the US consulate would contact me. I am going to ask my husband to prepare I-864 and get her tax things ready. What else can I prepare right now?!?

the one will cancel out the other(my friend did the same) After u see its sent to nvc, wait a week and call to confirm it came. Then wait about 15 days and call to get receipt and case number. We used the short cuts and are flying through nvc. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

This helped us and while we waited for case numbers we gathered packets to have ready to send.

1/4/2016 petition received at NVC (call and confirm it arrives. About 15 days try to get your case number and receipt number, I got mine in 11 days)

1/15/2016 Called NVC and got case/invoice number logged into this site to pay fees, pick agent -> https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx 1/15/2016 picked agent DS-261

1/18/2016 paid aos fee

1/28/2016 review 261 to get iv fee unlocked ( unlocked once I did review,was taking to long)

2/1/ 2016 sent AOS & IV packets together to nvc while I waited for iv fee to open to save time.

2/4/2016 paid IV Fee and waited to do ds260

2/3/2016 nvc received aos and iv packets(scan date)

2/7/2016 ds260 completed and now waiting for cc

4/20/15 shots 4/25/15 rest of medical exam

INTERVIEW APRIL 27TH @8:30

April 27th 221g for additional documentation and placed in administrative processsing.

June 20th submitted evidence requested

June 23rd case was touched by embassy

August 1st case was touched again.

AUGUST 16TH embassy called and wants a new co sponser yet he met requirements.

Found a new co-sponsor

Handed in aos sept 11th

Set 18th another update

Sept 28th update and embassy called

SEPT 29TH ISSUED FINALLY

OCT 2nd visa in hand

POE October 22nd 2016

yes, read the whole link, seriously saved me 2 months. NVC is super nice every time I called them. Once u get those numbers u can pick agent, pay fees and send packets(depending on which visa). That link tells you step by step. We are waiting for our Case complete now... you can see my timeline also in my signature. Edited by FarrahIdir

Thank you. Any Tips on speeding up the NVC process is greatly appreciated.

start gathering your financial documents and supporting documents, and start filling out the aos. You won't be able to send until you pay fees and fill out some other forms online, but it'll be easy to send your packet right away after everything else goes through, plus it gives you time to,check and double check that you have everything.

Update: my case has officially left NVC today and shows IN TRANSIT to the embassy.


I sent my AOS and my husbands supporting documents together finally last tuesday, but I have some doubts...i wish I had been more prepared. ?

If you think you will get a checklist, just in case have whatever you will need to resend ready to send asap when you get the checklist email. Hopefully everything will be ok! :)

just wondering if anybody else is still waiting for the NOA 2 hardcopy after getting approved. Got the email notification on Feb 5th and no letter or other updates yet. Does anybody know how long it usually takes for the NOA 2 letter to arrive? Service Center is Nebraska.
