AOS - I'm hearing different stories

In another thread, I asked if the GC would be conditional or permanent if the AOS was applied before the 2-year marriage mark, but approved AFTER the 2-year marriage mark. I have gotten multiple answers that since the AOS was approved AFTER the 2 years, the GC would be permanent status.

When I called USCIS today, the person on the phone said this is incorrect info. and that it would be 2-year conditional GC.

I got confirmation of the approval via the USCIS website, which said a welcome notice was on its way, and thus haven't actually gotten the letter yet.

I'm just a bit anxious, as the entire AOS process has taken us a while, from the time of the application to the time we received confirmation of approval, and am wondering what is the true story?

The approval date is not in consideration (and cannot be known). So it is correct that it is conditional is the 2-yr mark has not been met at the time of APPLICATION.

As far as i know the 2 year time frame is time from the beginning of your marriage to the time of your AOS approval.

what do you mean the approval date cannot be known? wouldn't it be the date that it has been approved?

thanks for the website. the first sentence: "Your permanent residence status is conditional if it is based on a marriage that was less than 2 years old on the day you were given permanent residence." this sentence explains all.
