Tell me about it. You have over 10,000,000+ Mexicans unlawfully in this country, technically could be considered an invasion, yet a handful of workers step into Mexico and they have the nerve to complain.

This land is ripe with historical invasions and taking land from one people to another. When did it become unfashionable?

Newsflash: Most countries out there have a history of doing the exact same thing, dating back thousands of years..

Do you look at the early American settlers with the same disdain as you do with Mexicans? History DOES matter...period.

Well I don't think there were immigration laws in the 16 and 17th century when the first Europeans came to the America's, but then my family came here through New York in the early 1900's...legally

Of course - so there's legalities and there's criminal behavior. People continue b!tching about the illegals here as if their behavior (being here outside of legal means) is criminal. "They are vermin." "They don't deserve anyone's empathy or compassion." A bit over melodramatic and it's been fueled by 9/11. Just look throughout this thread - fear of terrorists seeping into this country and that fear manifested into towards immigrants coming from Mexico. And the funny thing is nothing is being done (nothing of substance) to immediately address the issue. Like I said earlier, there's a lot more to the whole story than what everyone keeps b!tching about.

ah yes, this topic again. i disagree with you in this - intentionally crossing the border of a nation, intentionally bypassing law enforcement officials in place to prevent such is breaking the law and does make one a criminal in my eyes.

Is breaking and entering a crime? Is being present in someone else's country unlawfully a crime? What don't you try to live in anyone of the other top 20 industrialized countries in the world illegally and see what happens.. See how many credit cards or banks accounts you open..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Is Mexican a race?

Yes as a loose term "race" extends to nationalities.

But your eyes and the "eyes of the law" are not the same, no?

Perhaps. Other than deportation, what's the solution?

Do you want to pay for foreign nationals to occupy already overcrowded jails?

no, i say round them up and drop them off. at the southernmost point in mexico. they'll have a fun time working their way back into the states then. and btw, that was a procedure done in the 50's that worked.

not quite well, that procedure 'deported' Mexican-American US citizens who had a hard time returning to the US or never made it.. of course they were caught using the most vile racial profiling ever.. if they looked hispanic, even if they were born in USA, they were deported.. yea.. it worked pretty well.. and that 'efficiency' hasn't improved a lot...
