Hello everyone,

I just received an NOA2 stating the expiration day will be 11/28/2015 and on the way to NVC. I just wonder if I can schedule an appointment somewhere on May/2016 instead? I want to be with my fiancee when she has the interview, CO seems to be favor if petitioner accompany in my country.

Thanks,

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

As stated above, I want to be with my fiancee during the interview. Vietnam is consider as high fraud for Visa, I want to make sure the CO has no doubt on our relationship.

Thanks,

Your petition approval expires after 4 months. You need to to wrap this thing up asap! That's my take... For our case, I'm doing everything possible to prepare and giftwrap this thing as early as possible... Best of luck however you choose to go!!

You can't wait until then because your application will have expired.

It is not a problem if you can't make it to the interview with your fiance. I started a new job and unfortunately couldn't join my fiance for it and she did fine and said it was very easy.

Thanks for you reply. May I ask if you guys have dam hoi before the interview? Also, how many times you went back to VN? Edited by LocDenz

We didn't. She's Hmong so the culture is a bit different.

I've been to vietnam 5 or 6 times in the past 2 years and lived there for 2 month stretches twice. My friends and my mother have gone with me.

I can see that you had pretty concrete envidences before the interview, mine doesnt look like that, I visited her only one time, we did have a trip together, pictures with me and my family, I met her family, but no dam hoi before. I may let she goes to the interview alone, and hope that we can support more evidences like pictures, timeline, phone log, etc to make CO feels comfortable with our case. Or try to call Consulate like FrontGear said.

Once again, thanks for everyone inputs on this post or the other.
