CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I went to Bermuda last week, to help my fiancee move here. Her POE was on Valentine's Day. We'll be getting married on Thursday, the 18th. Since the scheduling was a bit out of our control (we wanted to be sure to marry and start the AOS process before my surgery next month), we plan to have a simple legal ceremony at the County Clerk's office. Next year, we'll plan for more of a celebration with family and friends, on the 20th anniversary of our relationship...which means it won't be on the anniversary of this marriage. Guess we'll continue forward celebrating two dates. :-)

Hi everyone! My husband and I finally filed our adjustment of status application today! Good luck to everyone that's recently recieved their SSN and gotten married. ? we live in Chicago and the USCIS is also in Chicago so maybe our application will get there as early as tomorrow.

It's been a long journey since August, I'm glad we're almost at the finish line.

I sent the visa application in August 5, my husband recieved his visa November 2, entered the US on November 20th, recieved his social security card on December 10, we got married on December 23rd and we finally sent his adjustment of status application today! We've been incredibly lucky that our process has been fast. I just hope that we don't get ant RFE for the adjustment of status!

Has anyone else submitted their adjustment of status application yet?

Sumeja,

Could you please help with the AOD process? what is the fee that you sent with the package? Did you send all the forms to once address? Could you please confirm the Chicago address?

Here is the list of items I'm preparing.

  • Payment in the amount of $1070.00 USD

  • I-485 completed and signed

  • Copy of applicant’s Passport biographical page and entry stamps

  • Copy of applicant’s K-1 Visa from passport

  • Copy of applicant’s NOA2 Approval Letter for I-129F Petition

  • Copy of applicant’s I-94

  • Copy of applicant’s birth certificate

  • Copy of marriage certificate (certified copy)

  • G-325A completed and signed

  • Two passport-type photos of applicant

  • Copy of DS-3025 vaccination documentation worksheet

  • I-864 Completed affidavit of support and supporting documents

  • I-765 Completed application for employment authorization

  • I-131 Completed application for travel document

Hi, the fee I sent was $1070.00 I wrote a check but you can use a money order as well, just make sure to address it to "US department of Homeland Security" or else they won't qccept the payment.

I sent everything to USCIS PO Box 805887 Chicago, IL 60680- 4120

I went over your checklist and compared it to mine, it's exactly the same as documents I'm sending too. This is optional but you can also include the form G 1145 e Notification of acceptance so that USCIS can inform you once they receive your application.

For the affidavit of support, make sure to send as many supporting documents as you can. I sent w2's and taxes from the past 3 years, recent paystubs and an employment letter for my co-sponsor to ensure that they reach the 125% poverty guidline.

On another note, I've read that you're suppose to take your vaccination documentation worksheet to a civil surgeon so they can fill out your I 693 form but we didn't do that. Some people do, others don't. There's a possibility that we may get a RFE for that. But everything else I filed, I'm almost 100% sure I did correctly haha.

My husband and I counted out the number of documents we're sending altogether and it was 77 so I made sure to make photocopies of all the important things like the check I'm sending in case something gets lost.

Good luck!

Sumeja, Thank you very much for your help. I have another question on form I-131- Application for Travel document. Will the part 7 - Complete only if applying for the Advance Parole apply to us(K1 Visa)?

Thanks,

Looks good and like what I've compiled :) You don't mention what supporting documents you've added to your I-864 but I assume you've added proof of sponsor's U.S. citizenship (or alien status), tax transcripts, pay stubs, employment letter and such? With the I-765 and I-131 you have to include 2 x passport for each application as well.

You could also add a G-1145 for e-mail notification - I've added one for each application in my AOS packet (I-485, I-765 and I-131)

Yes, but only part 7, no. 1 as I'm assuming you want the AP sent to your home in the U.S. :)

I received my SSC on February 16th, tomorrow we're applying for our marriage license and on March 21st we'll get married - finally :) There's a bit of a wait here in the county which is why we can't get married any sooner, anyhow we're meeting the deadline which is April 12 lol

I've already filled out the AOS + EAD + AP, just need the marriage certificate and then we're filing the packet :)
