We had the interview yesterday morning at the Guayaquil consulate. I was there with my fiancee. Since we were the first ones on the list, the whole process lasted about an hour. After a few questions like "how did you meet?" "why did you decide to get married in the US, why not marry here in Ecuador?" and "Did you buy her an engagement ring?" the lady said we were approved. we were so happy to hear that we were approved and glad that this part of our journey is over.

Wish everyone else luck on their upcoming interviews. Go in relaxed and positive, you'll be fine.

We married Friday <3 2 days before Valentines, so should be an easy anniversary for me to remember... Waiting for the certificate and then starting the next part of the process...

01/14/2016 - P.O.E. @ Newark International Airport
03/21/2016 - Got married @ town hall
03/22/2016 - AOS, EAD, AP packet sent off
08/03/2016 - Became a Conditional Permanent Resident
05/07/2018 - ROC packet sent off

Guys, we got approve on interview, YAY

But my local delivery service just desapear my documents.

It's more then 10 days after my interview and nobody knows where my passport is.

I'm freaking out. :ranting:

I guess so. I'm trying to contact them to know what happened, but its really complicated.

I'm waiting the consulate answar about it.

If it doesn't show up, it looks like Marco will have to get a new passport, gather all the documents again, and return to the consulate to turn everything in so they can re-do the package. Hopefully that is not the case though! It's unbelievable the mail service has lost these documents :crying: . We have have plans and things booked for his arrival, Thanksgiving, our marriage, and a winter trip!

10/19/2015: Received information from Consulate.
10/28/2015: Medical Exam
11/17/2015: Interview...rescheduled due to computer problems. New date as yet unknown.
11/18/2015: Called in for interview and APPROVED!

11/24/2015: Picked up visa/passport and sealed packet from the Consulate! <happy dance>

02/14/2016: Arrived in the U.S. (POE was Bermuda)...CO was really nice!

was your 3 week wait from submitting your READINESS form until you got the interview date by letter??

then about 2.5 weeks from getting the letter until the actual interview??

just trying to anticipate when ours will arrive :)

That's about right Heather. Just keep calm, I know it's hard but you'll get your letter soon.

I'm sorry to hear of our troubles. I can feel your anxiety.

This is a lesson for others to learn as the Embassy's tells everyone the following:

Do not finalize arrangements for travel to the United States, dispose of property, or resign from your job until a visa has been issued and delivered to you. Generally, a single-entry fiancé(e) (K1) nonimmigrant visa is valid for six months from the date of issuance, unless its validity is limited by medical or other restrictions.
