One more question. We are gathering all documents for the interview. They are asking for birth certificates form all applicants. Do I as the petitioner need to send my birth certificate or does this just mean my girlfriend? (I sent copies of my passport instead of a birth certificate with the original K-1 application) - this could be an embassy specific but here we are only required to submit original birth certificate of the beneficiary and derivatives if any. During I-129 F application, a passport or birth certificate was required from the petitioner as proof of citizenship. Just give your fiancee a copy of the entire i129F packet and she should be fine with the copies to bring to the interview. The whole I129F packet should be on the US embassy system but make sure she have a copy.

Also, they are asking for evidence of a relationship. We submitted the evidence with the origianl K-1 application. Do we need to bring the same evidence again or just some additional evidence since the application? - correction that is the I-129 petition that you did, your fiancee is now applying for the K1 visa on her local country. She need to bring additional evidence of continued relationship, latest ones that was not submitted with the i129F packet.

Also, divorce decrees, I am the only one divorced and that evidence was also sent with the original K-1 application, do I need to send my information again? - send a certified true copy to your fiancee, they may ask for it.

Sorry if these seem like stupid questions but I would hate to screw up right at the end of the process. Thanks in advance. Rodney

We didn't need to, but have you entered your number on the CEAC website to check your status? https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

See what that says to see if they've even received your case.

Awesome, exactly one month to go. Good luck!

I did try it but it tells me the case number is not valid. I checked and double checked it with the paper work but I had entered it correctly. Does this mean the embassy never received it? Or maybe because my fiance already submitted the DS-160 and they want his applicant ID instead now? I'll check with his applicant ID later today and hopefully see something.

Good luck to everyone with their interviews coming up! The journey is almost over!

My fiancée scheduled for her interview on 11/18/2015. We submitted the package 3.5 on 10/29 and I was not expecting this to be this quick :)

Good luck!

You have to enter the case number the NVC gave you, make sure you selected the IMMIGRANT VISA category on the website. The case number should start with 3 letters and then then 10 numbers.

Ahh there's the problem! I was using the nonimmigrant visa category. Thank you!

The embassy got my packet3 on 29 Oct. And I got packet 4 in my e-mail on 3 Nov. My interview is scheduled on 18 Nov. Which is really unexpected fast. Because from what I know the line has already down to Nov 30. I first plan to have the interview in the mid of Dec. I have no idea how they schedule the date. I know people who sent in packet 3 the same date as me but they both have the interview at the end of the month. Now, lots of work to do for the interview! I'm happy for this, tho

Has anyone else had to contact the embassy themselves after receiving NOA2?

Our case was forwarded by the NVC a month ago now and still we haven't heard anything about from the embassy. We have our case number but at our embassy, it isn't allowed to schedule the interview before the embassy has contacted you.

I sent an e-mail out to the embassy today to see what's up. I was just wondering if it was normal for them to take so long to contact us or if anyone else also had to contact the embassy themselves.

The Venezuelan embassy received our file on Oct 19th. We called the embassy yesterday and then they sent us an email telling us it was ready to create a profile online so that we could pay the visa fee and schedule an interview. I'm not sure if calling got the ball rolling or if it was just a coincidence that we got the email soon after calling.

I would say it never hurts to call your embassy and ask the status of your case. Worst thing they say is that it isn't ready yet.

We are 'READY' in London after NVC sent it to the UK.

Looking at ceac:

Case Creation Date: 22-Oct-2015 Status Updated Date:

05-Nov-2015 << THIS has been updated on 3 Nov and 4 Nov and 5 Nov >> anyone know what the updates mean? Are there a set number of steps they go through? Could be the DS160 being added? And the medical arriving? The readiness form being noted?? Is there anything we can learn from this?

And now, do we just have to wait a few weeks? Is it 6 weeks before notification of interview date?

Then up to 4 more weeks before actual interview?

Or I think I read somewhere that it could all happen in just a few weeks. Anyone know?

I'm assuming the 6 and 4 are worst case scenario?????
