It's really nice to see so many people posting about the progress of their Visa Journeys. Getting case numbers and NOA-2's are huge steps in this process. Currently our case has been received by the Ukraine embassy and were going to schedule the medical soon and then our interview. It's been an emotional roller coaster with all this (as I am sure you already know) it's nice to know that it's almost at the point where our fiances will be with us soon!

I wish everyone here the best

Went for medical today, had MMR shot, blood test done for Varicella (Chicken Pox) to see if I need, as I may have immunity since I was exposed to it numerous times as a child without contracting (Varicella shot cost AUD$85)

The doctor I saw at Anzac Square Medical, Brisbane, James Yates, is an absolute hoot. Welcoming smile and jokes and funny anecdotes right throughout the visit.

Have to wait for the bloods and X-ray results to come in, then the medical centre will call me and I will travel back down to Brisbane to get them....

They can post, if you provide them with appropriate posting envelope, BUT if the envelope wasn't to arrive you have to undergo the whole medical again, so another $485.

If I show positive to Varicella antibodies, then no need for shot and my vaccination record will be updated on the spot.

So..... another turn of the wheel closer to moving to be with my Love yay!!!... and the waiting continues.....

Is good to see so many people progressing in their journey to being with their partners.... stick with it, continue to use this site as a great guide, please update accurately and regularly as things happen on your timeline, that way we all benefit and can get a reasonable guide to when our next step is going to happen 8-)

How long did it take for the embassy to contact you after the caes tracker said that your case number was ready to set up an interview? We are going on two weeks and we still haven't gotten the email from the embassy. I'm assuming because they are short staffed but I just wanted to see what the average wait time is for other embassies.

Meggers

Our case at Ceac changed to ready 19 October, my fiancé received email 21 October from Sydney consulate asking for me to contact them with case number, ds160 to be completed and fee receipt number, as well as my contact info. You should have your Syd2015..... case number already, if not call Ceac to give to you, then I'd be sending an email to the Sydney consulate, quoting your case number, 'gently' querying its status and that you are ready.

If you have not yet done your ds160, online profile I suggest you do that immediately and then pay the fee, they could be waiting on the online profile to be done.

Hope this is helpful ?

Oh, just realised you are in Venezuela, each country has different waiting times, but the principal still applies, Ceac will tell your your case number, then follow the steps as outlined above to try determine where your embassy is at with your case

Thank you for the reply! I know Venezuela tends to be slow. I was just wondering how quickly other consulates got their stuff done so I have an idea of what my minimum wait time might be.

I have a question for the experts. My girlfriend in coming on Jan. 3, 2016 but she wants to return to Colombia for Spring Break for a week with me. If we get married on the second week of March is she able to travel outside the US the next week or is there other paperwork we will have to file and wait on? If so, what is the usual timeline? Thanks very much in advance for your knowledge. Rodney

K1visa is valid for 1 time entry! So you will not be able to use that.

You will need to apply for Advance Parole in order to be able to enter US. (usually takes 2-3 month to be approved)

It can also be done as a part of applying for AOS.
