Hi everyone,

First of all, I want to thank everyone on this forum, your words of support, your guidance and your ideas have been a great help, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for everythig.

My case was received by the US Embassy in Albania and they have been quite fast. They received packet 3 from my fiancee and I and they replied today with a link for our interview, the only dates available they left us were the 13th and 15th of October and we set it up for the 15th and we need to get the medical done ASAP, other then that we are set.

GOOD LUCK to everyone here! ALL THE BEST! :)

Congratulations, rfejzullari, and good luck on the next stage!

Checked CEAC this evening and our status has changed to READY - our case has been received at the consulate! So, it took only about six days, despite a close call with Hurricane Joaquin. For those that look at our times and get frustrated with their own process...please don't. Your time will come. We've been together over 18 years and never thought we'd have this opportunity in the US (we still don't in her country).

We'll be setting our interview date for early 2016. We've planned another trip before the end of this year, which will include a birthday vacation - our first real vacation (as in away from our residences) in some years; then, some more time for her here over the holidays. We don't want to chance having the visa issued (knock wood...anything could happen) too soon, as we won't be ready for her to come to the US until around March/April. At least, that's our plan at the moment. As a bonus for waiting a little bit, we can plan to marry on or near our 19th anniversary, if all goes well. Keeps those dates easy to remember. :)

Yesterday I received the package 3.5 from Islamabad embassy.

I have few questions regarding package 3.5 and I hope someone can answer it here.

1.) In civil documents, they ask birth certificates, police certificate and divorce certificate of any previous marriages. Do I (petitioner) need to send my birth certificate, police certificate and divorce certificate or its my fiance's or both of us? Please advise ASAP

My understanding of the situation is you are both required to supply all those documents... We are both doing the same GL my friend (Petitioner does not need to send police certificate, just beneficiary, but birth and divorce certificates are needed from Beneficiary and Petitioner)

Of course the embassy managed to get my fiances email wrong and then blaim it on him, saying he filed it wrong. They even posted the right email in the package letter saying it was the wrong one! wonder how USCIS manages to email him then? haha, so confusing.

Secong mistake, they got my effing name wrong!! lol so i had to email them, i hope this wont be a problem since it´s their mistake :(

But at least the medical is booked now in early December and the visa fee is payed! now it is just time to wait for the payment reciept before i book a interview date.

stress stress, freak out freak out...getting harder the closer we get :/ we have been sailing through but now the problems are starting to appear.

Thank you!! :) Yes, that's definitely way easier this way lol I'm really amazed - didn't expected to receive this email for another month at least.

It says there's 2-3 weeks of waiting time when it comes to the medical exam so I think I'm going to schedule that at the beginning of next week - it also has to be done at least 11 days prior to the interview so might as well be on top of that. And of course fill out the DS-160. After that I can better set a date for the interview, knowing that the medical is over and done with.

The affidavit of support e.g. he will send me "later on".

My fiancé is visiting me in 8 days - we did NOT expect to have all of this sorted before his visit! lol

I just contacted NVC with the nonimmigrant phone number. Took less than 5 mins to get someone on the phone. They just entered our info into the system yesterday which suspect means I should be receiving a letter in the mail soon. Make sure that they enter your receipt number correctly. They guy entered mine wrong the first time around. Our NOA2 Notice date was Sept. 14th

Though we started out long-distance, we actually lived together for about 12-13 years. Unfortunately, she had to return once the visa expired a few years ago, as she wasn't able to find work after obtaining her degrees. It's been about 5 years, now. We do have regular trips back and forth and skyping is a near daily activity - so that helps a bit. I don't know if we would have lasted so long, had we not been able to live together for a period.
