Doesn't hurt. I didn't have to wait on hold very long (10-15 min max?) and sounds like others didn't wait too long either. And it was received much sooner than I was thinking it would. You may be pleasantly surprised :)

Hello Everyone! I just wanted to encourage you. We filed our 129F form on August 4th. Everything flew through and we now have an appointment at the Embassy in Kiev on October 13th. I really thought it would take the five months we heard it would, but the whole process took only six weeks. I dont know how that happened, but we are certainly happy about it. We are really praying that the interview will go smoothly. Everything is ready.

I am a K-1 petitioner and the K-1 petition that I filed for my fiancee has been approved since September 11th. 2015. How do I find out the status of my case in NVC since after receiving NOA2 I don't have any update about my petition. What is the next step? how do I find out? Is there a website where I can enter the receipt number of petition to know the post NOA2 status? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

We got already an instruction for my interview, I'm the beneficiary and we didn't expect it will be that fast when it comes receiving NOA2 and other notice. I am just waiting for her to give me the affidavit of support, then I will start making an appointment for my medical then for the interview.

I'm not aware about the dates we have received our notices, bec. they sending it to her mail and she just keeping me updated in what shall i do next.

July 30, 2015 - sent petition files

August 25 - i think we received NOA1

September 27 or 30 - received NOA2

October 3 - received in Abu dhabi unit

Oct..... 2015 - medical examination

Oct......2015 - interview

... So when NVC completes the assigning of a case number you will probably not get a notification since NVC will send the letter to you ... I recommend that if you want and need your case number you should call the NVC.

1-603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888. Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

I had the same question earlier that was answered by Greenbaum. You should call NVC (bold, red number above) and they will inform you if they have received your petition and the new Case number.

Once you get the new Case number you can use this at ceac.state.gov to see any updates (such as: At NVC, In Transit, Ready). When the embassy in your country receives your case they will notify you. Before that you won't get any notification unless you call yourself.

Today the US Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia called my fiancé and asked him for for all his social media account usernames (Facebook, Twitter, Skype), email addresses, and universities attended in the last 5 years to expedite the visa process before the interview. That was unexpected. Just putting that out there.

Why would they need all of that information? Never heard about that before..

I'd never hear of such thing either, nor have I ever come a cross anyone else on VJ saying they've experienced this. I didn't think something like Twitter or Facebook would be important. About education/work, all of that is covered in the DS-160.

At least if they're gonna look into things they're being proactive about it and have been contacting us since the case arrived. Makes me optimistic that it won't take long to get our interview :)

Hello Essiej! We have the same NOA2 date, so thought I'd let you know that I called NVC early this morning and they told me that they have not received my case yet. Let me know what you find out if you call them in the coming days. Of course, they told me to call after 30 days but we all know that will not be the case.:rofl:

I am keeping my fingers crossed that we'll both get our case numbers this week!
