I was wondering; are you tracking your case from USCIS to NVC to the embassy?

It's been awhile since your petition was approved, have you gotten any notice from NVC regarding receiving your case? Or have you gotten a case no.?

No, we haven't heard anything from the NVC and we most likely won't contact them either. As far as I know, they still send out letters with the case number and everything even if it takes months sometimes. And that's fine with us considering our future plans changed very recently. We don't actually plan to go to the interview for another ~9-10 months from right now so we have plenty of time.

The only time we'd likely get in touch with the NVC is if we still haven't heard anything from them sometime in March next year or so.

Yea I noticed you writing that, that's why I was wondering whether you had received a letter from the NVC since I knew you wouldn't be tracking down the case no. like others do.

Just wondering if it actually would make a difference in our case to track down the info from the NVC.... Can't really see how it will speed up the process for us ?

Congrats!! I filed in August on the 14th. They received it the 19th and notice date was the 21st. Still no NOA1 for me though? I called USCIS and same as case tracker app: still says received Aug 19th..I guess I shouldn't worry unless a few weeks have passed any thoughts?

I wouldn't worry just yet. However I do understand that it's really frustrating when people with NOA1s later than you, gets approved before you do :( But I'm sure yours is on its way!!

Don't worry, I received my NOA-2 28 days after NOA-1. You'll get it eventually. There's no telling why some get it faster than others. Also I got mine around 9:30pm California time so keep checking the app.

Does anybody know, will the app be updated when the petition is received at NVC, or has left NVC? Or is the only way to find out by calling?

I won't bother calling, because even if I do get my case number there's nothing we can do with it before the embassy receives the case. I know it's different for other countries, but in Saudi you should have a letter from the embassy addressing the appropriate authority before even getting the police certificate or going to the medical. It's best just to let the case reach the embassy, but I'd really like to fill in all the blanks of the Timeline lol.

Keep in mind that if your application for the visa is approved you have 1 year to process the visa at your Embassy. If it goes beyond that date, it will be considered abandon and if you beyond the anniversary and want still go forward, you'll have to resubmit another application and fee.

The app is updated when a milestone is reached that a NOA is produced. So when NVC completes the assigning of a case number you will probably not get a notification since NVC will send the letter to you and so that notification would not appear on the app. That is the theory of the app, but the app is new so I am still learning all it's capabilities. I recommend that if you want and need your case number you should call the NVC.

Right when I read your comment, I was on hold for the first time waiting to see if we got our yet and we haven't. I was wondering when you call nvc, do they make it seem like they haven't received anything yet or give you any update because it kind of nerve wracking talking to them about it. It makes me feel like my case is lost somewhere or still in California. Just wanted to know if this is their typical response that it takes 35 days for them to receive it and then say goodbye.
